Google of Russia, Yandex announces a new Smartphone powered by Android and it is impressive from the outside.

To be frank, the new Yandex phone looks exactly like Google’s Pixel from the outside. It is too familiar with the design.

For those that don’t know, Yandex is the biggest search engine in Russian. That is why, they are known as ‘Google of Russia’

It is the first phone Yandex, as new entries, they called the phone Yandex.Phone. It is available for purchase right now.

Design and Display

The bezels surrounding the Smartphone is increasing amazing and quite minimal. It might pass for a flagship Smartphone.

The newly announced Smartphone is designed with the company’s own apps, including a custom launcher.

It arrives with a moderate 5.65-inch display with LCD Full HD+ (2,160 x 1,080) resolution.

The Yandex.Phone arrives with glass back and protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The first phone from Yandex arrives with IP54 ratings for dust and water resistance. Isn’t this cool?

At the back sits a fingerprint sensor scanner, dual camera, which is occupied with a flash for clearer shots.

Camera and connectivity

While for the camera, the handset comes with a dual camera setup at the back and a single selfie camera.

The dual camera setup, consists of a primary standard main 16-megapixels + secondary 5-megapixels lens.

At the front, the phone packs a 5-megapixel front camera, which is also accompanied with LED flash.

While for the network and connectivity, the phone comes with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, GPS, USB Type-C etc.

Performance and Battery

The Yandex.Phone runs on 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, which is clocked at 2.2 GHz Octa-Core processor.

There is the Adreno 508 GPU for graphic processor, and it runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS. Not bad for a start.

Like the Nokia 8.1 Smartphone, the new handset comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and it comes with expandable micro SD card.

The phone is fueled by a 3050mAh built-in battery with fast charging technology. Might last some few days.


The company’s smartphone is the first phone that is fully powered by Yandex’s intelligent assistant, Alice.

Alice can assist users with maps, weather, music, calendar, and voice calls. Alice is the leading AI assistant for the Russian market.

Yandex.Phone is available for purchase at Yandex’s flagship store in Moscow, and the mobile phone costs 17,990 rubles, which is around $270 per unit. December 7 is the date for online retailers.
