This is the first Redmi phone with a display notch
After so much hyping, speculations and rumors, Xiaomi finally settled and unveiled the Redmi 6 Pro Android Smartphone, today, being the 25th of June. The company alongside, announced the Mi Pad 4.
The both phones did not arrive with notch display but fortunately for some and unfortunately for many others, the Redmi 6 Pro claims the first position for series to come notch display design, and it also arrives with dual rear camera.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro: Design and Display
Like most of its likes and predecessors, the Redmi 6 Pro is no difference. There is the fine meeting and finishing of metal + plastic design, that gives the phone a wonderful and premium feeling.
The Redmi 6 Pro has all piece of a budgeted Smartphone, it comes with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 pixels, that provides a massive 500 nits brightness, this give each look into the screen a clearer immersive and vivid view.
The phone sports a tall 5.84-inch, with a 19:9 2.5D curved glass display. And of course, there is a slight chin at the bottom of the device.
The notch display houses the necessary components. It offers both Face ID, fingerprint sensor at the back and comes in five different colors; Stone Black, Sand Gold, Cherry Blossom Powder, Bali Blue, and Flame Red colors.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro: Camera and Connectivity
The Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 Pro is definitely a piece of awesomeness on the camera aspect. It may not be a selfie-centric smartphone but it offers more preferable camera pixels for taking bright and classic images.
On the back, the phone brings in a dual camera setup on the back, a primary 12-megapixels with 1.25μm pixels, f/2.2 aperture and support EIS, it backed by a secondary 5-megapixels with f/2.2 aperture, this helps for the photo balancing, phase detection autofocus (PDAF). There’s a LED flash.
That is also found on Redmi Note 5 Pro. While on the front, the phone comes with a 5-megapixels front facing selfie-shooter, with HDR and AI portrait mode. The front camera also support Face Unlock feature.
There is support for 4G VOLTE, 3G WCDMA, 2G GSM, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, a microUSB port, dual nano SIM slots, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Redmi 6 Pro: Performance and Battery
To keep it a budgeted Smartphone, Xiaomi is using the outdated 2017 chipset, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, running at 2GHz Octa-Core with 8x ARM Cortex-A53 core. The graphic performance of the phone is handled by Adreno 506.
The phone arrives in two variants, there is the 3GB + 32GB model and the 4GB + 32GB/64GB model. Switching in between apps, doesn’t slow down the phone and fortunately, it can be expanded up to 256GB via micro sd card.
The phone runs on MIUI 9 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and it is expected to receive the new MIUI 10 sooner or later. The phone features Xiaomi’s proprietary voice assistant.
There is Face ID Unlock, coupled with Fingerprint sensor scanner, that is mounted at the back. Everything on the phone is taken care of the huge 4000mAh battery capacity with 5V/2A charging.
How much is the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro?
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro comes in two variants and both models prices varies from each other. The 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant costs CNY 999 / $153 and N56,160 in Nigeria currency.
While the 4GB RAM/32GB cost CNY 1199 / $185 and N66,600 in Nigeria currency. The 4GB RAM/64GB goes for CNY 1299 / $200 and N71,640 in Nigeria currency.
Officially, pre-orders is up ONLY in China, and sales will begin from June 26. Unfortunately, Nigerians, Xiaomi didn’t say anything about the device coming to other countries.
