Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G goes official with 120W fast charging and Xiaomi 11i with 67W

During its last event in India, Xiaomi officially announced the Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G. The Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi mentioned that this is “India’s fastest charging smartphone” which allows the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G to top up at up to 120W.

The phones feature a flat-edge design and a frosted AG glass back. However, the Xiaomi 11i duo is not be confused with the Mi 11i, and sold as Mi 11X in India, but is just renamed as the 2021 October’s Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus and Redmi Note 11 Pro in China.

Both Smartphones bring a triple 108-megapixels 1/1.52″ Samsung HM2 sensor with support for 9-in-1 pixel binning technology that offers large 2.1μm pixels and Dual Native ISO. The dual native ISO promises clear and textured images with reduced noise, even in low light conditions.

In addition, there is the 8-megapixels f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor with a 120° field-of-view and it is accompanied by a 2-megapixels macro camera sensor. There’s a single hole-punch camera cutout that brings support for a 16-megapixels f/2.45 sensor.

On the top is a 6.67” Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 1080p resolution, DCI-P3 color gamut support, 1200nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Both are available in Purple Mist, Camo Green, Pacific Pearl, and Stealth Black colors.

It brings an IP53 rating for water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Hybrid Dual SIM, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Dual Super-linear speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos with Hi-Res audio. Both support Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS + GLONASS, and NFC.

These phones are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset, a 6nm processor with 2x 2.5GHz Cortex-A78 and 6x 2GHz Cortex-A55 CPUs alongside Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. These phones run Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 out of the box.

Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G are available in 6GB and 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage, and fortunately, you can easily expand the memory up to 1TB via dedicated microSD support. There is support for up to 3GB of virtual RAM also.

There is support for VC liquid cooling with 12600 mm² heat dissipation, fully covering the heat sources of the main device body. The newly announced phone features dual super linear speakers, and also X-axis linear vibration motor.

And here are the major differences between these phones -the battery and charging capacity- The Xiaomi 11i brings a 5160mAh battery with 67W fast charging, although, Xiaomi failed to mention the time frame it will take for a full charge.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge sports a dual-cell 4500mAh battery with graphene, dual charge pump, Mi-FC technology, MTW technology, and support for 120W fast charging that can charge up to 100% in 15 minutes, and comes with a charger in the box.

Xiaomi also noted that the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge retains up to 80% battery capacity even after 800 charge or discharge cycles. The company mentioned that the phone has gone through 34 safety checks and TUV Rheinland Safe Fast-Charge system certification.

The Xiaomi 11i and 11i HyperCharge 6GB RAM costs INR24,999 ($335/€300) / INR26,999 ($360/€320) respectively for the phones variants and the 8GB RAM goes for INR26,999 ($360/€320) / INR28,999 ($390/€345), both models use LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB UFS 2.2 internal storage.

Xiaomi also brings support for existing Redmi Note users that can get up to INR4,000 ($53/€47) discounted from the price if they trade in their old phone. However, sales will begin on January 12 at the Mi stores, Flipkart.com, and other authorized resellers.
