Finally, WhatsApp instant messaging app is now available to all the KaiOS powered feature mobile phones worldwide, which a perfect example is the Nokia 8110 device.
Well, WhatsApp being available to millions of people who are using feature phones like the Nokia 8110 is definitely a smart move for the company. Recall that, it has been reported that approximately, 40 million KiaOS feature phones has been shipped, so far!
Whatsapp was available on Jio phones last September. Although, it was already available on Nokia 8110 in April, but only to India users. This updates is practically for worldwide usage.
The KaiOS version of WhatsApp supports both calling and messaging, end-to-end encryption and many others. The size of the app is 256MB or 512MB of RAM and can be downloaded from the KaiStore for KaiOS devices.
Anyways, for starters KaiOS is a lightweight operating system that controls and powers the interface and software of feature phones. The KaiOS started last year as a branch version of Firefox OS. In fact, Google saw the future with KaiOS and decided to invests $22m into KiaOS.
