Vivo Z3 launched with a water-drop notch, dual camera and Face Unlock

Chinese Smartphone brand is taking the v-shape notch display to a higher level! This is the new Vivo Z3 Android powered Smartphone, which arrives with a mid-range processor, and comes with a double biometric security features.

The Vivo Z3 is the latest Smartphone from the Chinese company, but they are offering the Smartphone in two different variants. Although, both are of mid-range, -Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 and Snapdragon 710 SoCs coupled with 6GB of RAM.

Design and Display

Vivo is currently expanding their Z-series, last time, they introduced the Z3i with the same water-drop notch display. The trending notch display is popular among the company’s X-series, Y-series, and V-series.

The top notch display, is smaller and thinner, it only hold the selfie shooter. All others remains the same, 6.3-inch LCD panel notched 19:9 Full screen display HD+ 1080 pixels and boasts of 90.3 screen-to-body ratio. It is available in three shiny colors: Starry Night, Aurora Blue, and Dream.

Camera and Connectivity

The cameras aren’t encouraging to go for one, it hosts front-facing 12MP sensor with dual pixel sensor, f/2.0 aperture and doubles as Face Unlock feature that uses an infrared light to unlock the screen.

While touting a dual-rear mounted camera, consisting of 16-megapixels f/2.0 + 2-megapixels f/2.4 aperture. The phone is embedded with a lot of AI-features such as AI-Portraits, AI Scene, Image stabilization and many more.

It also comes with the Jovi smart voice assistant, which is not different from other Vivo Smartphones. At the back, is a fingerprint sensor scanner. And supports, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB along with OTG support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Performance and Battery

Arriving in two different variants, -the Vivo Z3 V1813BA is powered by a Snapdragon 670 SoC with two Kryo 360 cores running at 2.0GHz frequency and the other six at 1.7 GHz and coupled with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and can be expandable up to 256GB.

While the other variants, the Vivo Z3 V1813DA empowered by with Snapdragon 710 with the same two Kryo 360 cores but clocks at a higher 2.2 GHz frequency coupled with with 6GB RAM + 64GB / 128GB. And it is still expandable via micro SD card slot.

Both phones features a dual-SIM mode and runs on the company’s Funtouch OS on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. It packs a 3315mAh battery capacity, which is charged via the traditional port, a micro USB port.

The pricing is quite different for each variants, the Vivo Z3 SD670 with 4GB + 64GB version is priced at CNY1,598 / $230 / N82,800, while the SD710 variant with 6GB + 64GB costs CNY1,898 / $275 /N99,000. And then the SD710 version, with 6GB + 128GB is asking for CNY2,298 / $330 /N118,800 in Nigeria currency!
