Vivo Y72 5G goes officially announced in India with a 5000mAh battery and a 6.58-inch FHD+ 90Hz display and it is the first 5G handset in Vivo’s Y-series in India.
Before the India launch, the Vivo Y72 5G global variant was launched in Thailand around March with Dimensity 700 5G. Which costs around THB 9,999.
This is unlike the Indian counterpart with Snapdragon chipset. It was also introduced as Vivo Y52s around May in China with almost identical features.
The Vivo Y72 5G sports a 6.58-inch 1080pixels FHD+20.07:9 aspect ratio LCD screen with support for 90Hz refresh rate, which bring smooth scrolls on the display panel.
Y72 5G comes with an ultra-slim 5.71 mm thin frame and thickness of 8.4mm, 2.5D back cover, and features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The handset comes in two colors – Prism Magic and Slate Gray options, features a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.1, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS and it weighs 185.5g.
Around the back are dual rear cameras inside an organized rectangular ring featuring a 48-megapixels camera with an f/1.79 lens and support LED flash.
It also features a 2-megapixels depth camera with an f/2.4 lens. On the front is a single 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
This is unlike the international variant that was introduced in Thailand, which arrives with 64-megapixels rear camera and another 8-megapixels ultra-wide lens.
Powering up the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 8nm Mobile Platform with its Kryo 540 CPUs clocking at 2GHz coupled with Adreno 619 GPU.
The handset is available in a single 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and two memory configurations – 128GB and 256GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage.
Any of the storage supports memory expansion up to 1TB through a dedicated microSD, allowing space for more files such as photos, movies, apps, etc.
It comes with Dual SIM, runs on Android 11 with FuntouchOS 11 out of the box, and a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging support. It costs Rs. 20,990 ($282) on Vivo’s online store.
