Around September this year, VIVO announced a Y51 with a 6.38″ FullHD+ Ace AMOLED display, but today, the Chinese Smartphone introduces another Vivo Y51 with a 6.58-inch FHD+ display, 48MP triple rear cameras, and 5000mAh battery.
Notably between the two phones, the newly announced Vivo Y51 comes with a bigger and better screen display. Of course, it is the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the Y series in India.
The Vivo Y51 comes in Titanium Sapphire and Crystal Symphony colors options, featuring a 6.58-inch Full HD+ LCD 20:9 aspect ratio screen with a screen resolution of 1080 pixels.
On the front is a waterdrop notch display that houses a single 16-megapixels front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. It supports numerous selfie features, AI selfies, etc, and face recognition biometric support.
Around the rear is a QUAD-rear camera setup, there is a main f/1.79 48-megapixels sensor with LED flash, EIS, supported by an additional f/2.2 8-megapixels ultra-wide sensor, 2-megapixels macro, and 2-megapixels depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
The camera app comes with features such as slow-motion recording, live photo, AI 48-MP mode, Super Night Selfie, Super Night Mode, and Ultra-Stable Video.
The new device comes with Dual SIM, allowing nano + nano + microSD, other connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, GPS + GLONASS.
It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 665 11nm Mobile Platform with Quad 2GHz Kryo 260 + Quad 1.8GHz Kryo 260 CPUs, alongside with Adreno 610 GPU and comes in an 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, expandable memory up to 1TB with microSD.
The VIVO Y51 December 2020 edition runs on Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11 out of the box, and it is fueled by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging via USB Type-C, which is bigger than the 4500mAh on the September Y51.
It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Audio Booster, Multi-Turbo 3.0, measures 163.86 × 75.32 × 8.38mm dimension and weighs 188g. It is priced at Rs. 17990 in India and IDR. 3,599,000 in Indonesia, which is around ($255/€210) and will be up for pre-orders in both countries from December 7 through online retailer shops.
Well, this isn’t the first time VIVO will be releasing a Y51 moniker, there was the December 2015 Y51 with Snapdragon 410 SoC, then September 2020 Y51 with AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 665 chipset, and now, the December 2020 VIVO Y51 is now out.
