vivo V21, V21 5G and V21e are official in Malaysia with 44MP selfie cam

Ahead of its India launch, vivo introduces its latest mid-range Smartphone V series in Malaysia – the vivo V21 lineup, which includes the following: vivo V21 5G, vivo V21 5G, and vivo V21e.

While these mobile handsets offer interesting similar features and specifications, especially around the cameras, the differences are little. Besides the network connectivity, the Vivo V21 and V21 5G are identical to each other.

And the Vivo V21e is just differentiated by its Snapdragon processor alongside other considerable features attached to the Smartphone. It is also the cheapest among the vivo V21 trio.

The vivo V21 and vivo V21 5G phones are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 800U (MT6873V) 7nm chipset with a Mali-G57 MC3 GPU, its Cortex-A76 CPU clocking at a 2.4GHz processor count.

While the vivo V21e is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G 8nm Mobile Platform with one of its Cores clocking at 2.3GHz Kryo 465 A76 with Adreno 618 GPU. It instead comes with Dual SIM, nano + nano + microSD.

They are available in a single memory configuration, 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, and you can expand the memory through a dedicated MicroSD card slot. It comes with a Hybrid Dual SIM.

They all run Android 11 OS with Funtouch OS 11.1 skin and arrives with an Extended RAM feature, that allows the device’s performance to run like it has more extra RAM.

Display and Camera

While the front display holds the same 6.44-inch 20:9 E3 1080pixels Full HD+ AMOLED screen with up to (V21e 570 nits) 800 nits brightness, (V21e HDR10) HDR10+ certified and comes with support for 90Hz refresh rate.

These three share the same 44-megapixels front camera inside a simple notch, EIS that allows extra smoothness during handheld videos, 4K recording, while the V21 and V21 5G version come with OIS support.

It comes with support for an AI Night Portrait mode and autofocus also. The V21 and V21 5G arrives with two LEDs embedded in the top frame to help out after dark but the V21e lacks this.


Another interesting specs are the identical three rear cameras, starting from the main 64-megapixels sensor with OIS and LED flash, offering f/1.89 lens on V21e and f/1.79 on the V21 and V21 5G.

Both front and rear cameras can be used for split-screen vlogs. In addition to these cameras, there is an 8-megapixels 119° ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixels macro sensor. Vivo V21 Spotlift Selfie

Design, Color, and Battery

All these arrive with an in-screen fingerprint scanner, AG matte glass finish, and the connectivity options include USB Type-C audio, 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.

Where the vivo V21 and V21 5G will be available in three colors: Sunset Dazzle, Dusk Blue, and Arctic White. The vivo V21e comes with Diamond Flare and Roman Black options.

They also offer their own level of thinnest, the v21 and v21 5G Dusk Blue option is thick at 7.29mm, weighs 176g while the Sunset Dazzle is 7.39mm thick, and also weighs 177g. On the other hand, the v21e is 7.38mm thick and weighs 171g.

Fueling these three Smartphones is a moderate 4000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging through a USB Type-C connector. The vivo V21 5G costs are yet unknown, but it will be arriving in India on the 29th of April.

The vivo V21 is priced at 1,599 Malaysian Ringgit ($390) and will go on sale in Malaysia from May 5th. While the vivo V21e is priced at 1,299 Malaysian Ringgit ($317) and will go on sale in Malaysia from May 5th.
