Tecno Spark 5 and Spark 5 Air launched as the company’s latest phone in its Spark lineup with 5000mAh battery, 4G LTE, 32GB internal storage, 2GB RAM and powered by a 2.0GHz octa-Core processor.
It is clear that Spark 5 is the major highlight among the two, and the direct successor to the Spark 4. The differences and similarities between the phones are quite clear.
On the other hand, the TECNO Spark 5 AIR is the successor to the Spark 4 AIR, and the differences are very clear. With major upgrades from the display, cameras, battery, and others.
Before the official launch in Nigeria, the Hong Kong-based Transsion Holdings subsidiary company, TECNO has already launched the phones in India with a slight difference.
TECNO Spark 5
Being the top, Spark 5 carries a 6.6-inch HD+ 720p Dot-in display, 90.2% screen ratio with a 3D back cover with gradient finish, measures 8.75mm, and available in Ice Jadeite, Spark Orange, Vacation Blue, and Misty Grey color options.
It is powered by an unknown chipset running at 2.0GHz Quad-Core processor, with 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot. And runs on HiOS 6.0 based on Android 10.
At the back is the AI Quad camera setup with QUAD-flash, the main 13-megapixels with f/1.8 aperture, 2-megapixels macro lens for close up shots, 2-megapixels depth lens for AI bokeh effect and an AI camera lens 3.0.
The AI lens features AI scene detection that can detect 10 different scene detection, the AI HDR that controls the light part from getting overexposed, and the background AI Bokeh Effect that gives portraits better focus.
At the front of the display is the camera-punch hole that packs a single 8-megapixels f/2.0 with dual-LED flash, Portrait HDR for a brighter and charming selfie in a low light condition.

Inside the phone is HiOS 6.0 based on Android Q, an unknown Octa-core processor, and 5000mAh battery capacity. TECNO Spark 5 retail price is N49,000 and will be available sooner than later.

On the other hand, we have the TECNO Spark 5 AIR with a tall and a phablet screen size of 7-inch 720 pixels HD+ display with 88% screen to body ration, 480 nit Brightness, and a 3D back cover with gradient finish.
It measures 8.95mm, available in Ice Jadeite, Spark Orange, Vacation Blue, and Misty Grey color options, Dual SIM, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor scanner, and AI Face Unlock 2.0.
Unlike the TECNO Spark 5, the Spark 5 AIR arrives with a dual rear camera setup with QUAD flash, including the main 13-megapixels camera with f/1.8 big aperture along with new algorithm AI Camera 3.0 and AI Lens.
It still features the AI Scene detection, AI HDR, and then the Wider and Better AI Bokeh Effect. The front houses the 8-megapixels AI Selfie Camera with Dual Flash and Aperture F/2.0. Including other necessary features.
TECNO Spark 5 AIR carries an unknown 2.0GHz Quad-Core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot, HiOS 6.0 based on Android 10 and 5000mAh battery.
