Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G announced with better and larger cover Super AMOLED display

For the first time, we are actually looking at an expensive and a more reasonable price approach for a Samsung handset – the $999 Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G is the company next’s futuristic Smartphone with two screens, remember the word: Flip.

During Samsung’s Unpacked event, the company announced both Galaxy X Flip 3 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G, both phones offer an awesome double standard screen display panel with an exclusive design on both front and back

As initiated, the Galaxy X Flip 3 5G is Samsung’s next-generation flip phone and the company admitted that premium-flagship phones should start arriving with two screens, and these might boosts user’s multitasking with dynamic and progressive productivity.

Out of the box, it runs Android 11 with One UI 3.1, NFC, and supports eSIM / Nano-SIM on two different trays. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5nm chipset and available in 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage,

Even the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G is driven by the same Qualcomm processor, and it is more expensive. The Flip 3 5G arrives with strong 5G support, 3300mAh battery with 15W fast charging via USB Type-C, 10W Qi wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Remarkable display panel

The Samsung Galaxy X Flip 3 5G arrives with a 6.7-inch FULL HD+ Dynamic AMOLED main display offering a 22:9 aspect ratio and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The Infinity Flex display has proprietary bendable Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG), this is increases the durability enhancements.

With a massive upgrade in mind, Samsung is now offering the Flip 3 5G with the now powerful 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, which is a profound upgrade over the 60Hz on its predecessor. It doesn’t just make the screen smoother, it also helps optimize the battery life.

Instead of the under-display camera on the new Fold 3 5G, Samsung used a more naive and straightforward selfie camera cutout at the top of the screen. Samsung also made a striking adjustable change on the outer cover screen, which is x4 larger than the original X Flip.

With such a bigger display on the outside, you’ve got more opportunities for other widgets and features. It is a 1.9-inch external/cover Super AMOLED display, which can show more content without having to open Z Flip 3, we’ve seen something similar on the Motorola’s Razr foldable.

These contents include several lines of text from notifications, messages, and the widgets are music, calendar, timer, weather, and others. From the cover display, users can effortlessly access Android’s quick settings or use Samsung Pay.

Samsung claims that it can be used for video recording and vlogs, and to explain its large display, you can use it as a viewfinder when taking selfies. In all sense and reasoning, the 1.1-inch in the predecessor was quite horrible.

In order to explain the legitimacy of the functionality, it features hands-free with Flex mode, and the new Flex Mode Panel makes apps look more straightforward to use. When the device is partially folded, Flex Mode Panel gives you new ways to interact with Z Flip3.

The Flex mode panel on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G handset offers a more convenient viewing experience by moving the video to the top half of the screen and also display other typical controls such as brightness and volume and this goes all the way to the bottom half.

Samsung confirms that Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G case is 30% more solid and substantial than the original Flip and Fold 2 – obviously. It comes with an Armour Aluminium frame, which the company says is its strongest aluminum frame yet.

Additional pretty specifications

For the very first time, one could either say the Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G or the Galaxy Fold 3 5G are the first foldable phones with a water resistance rating. The Flip 3 5G supports IPX8 ratings.

Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G sees no improvement on the camera lens, it comes with a primary and secondary 12-megapixels dual-rear camera setup, offering an f/1.8 wide-angle lens and f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera lens. However, it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass with DX protection.

The rear camera features LED flash supports, HDR10+, OIS, shoots up to 8x digital zoom, and supports video recording up to 4K 60fps. On the front, it features a 10-megapixels selfie shooter.

It comes with USB Type-C Audio, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and measures 6.9mm when unfolded. Overall, the Galaxy X Flip 3 5G weighs 183grams, pretty huge but considering the panels, it is worth it.
