Samsung W22 5G goes live in China as the company’s official successor to the previous Galaxy W21 5G Smartphone. The Galaxy W22 is Samsung’s foldable Smartphone and it is packed with the latest features such as a 120GHz refresh rate.
The Samsung Galaxy W22 5G is actually a Galaxy Z Fold3 5G for the Chinese market, and it was unveiled in partnership with China Telecom that sells the 16GB RAM with 256GB storage for CNY 16,999 ($2,645).
Of course, non of the Samsung Galaxy W series ever made it out of China, and yes, the Galaxy W22 isn’t different from them. It comes with an IPX8 water resistance feature, Armour Aluminium frame, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
However, the luxurious expertise and artisan design on the Galaxy W22 is the major part, impressively textured gold spine in the Phantom Black finish and the “Heart to the World” logo laid in the same gold color as the spine.
Instead of nano + eSIM in the Galaxy Z Fold3, the Galaxy W22 5G arrives with dual nano-SIM support. Identical to the Fold, it also comes with a hinge that is equipped with a slot for the S Pen stylus.
On paper, the Galaxy W22 5G is totally identical to the Galaxy Z Fold3, where you get to see the large 7.6-inch QXGA+ Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen on the inside and a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED outer display both supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, 10-megapixels f/2.2 cover the front-facing camera, and 4-megapixels under-display f/1.8 camera. The primary rear cameras include a triple 12-megapixels f/1.8 with OIS, telephoto f/2.4 lens and 120° ultra-wide sensor.
The Galaxy W22 5G is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5nm Mobile Platform runs Android 11 with One UI 3.1. It comes with stereo speakers backed by Dolby Atmos. It weighs 288g, supports NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 LE, Ultra Wide Band, GPS with GLONASS.
Samsung Galaxy W22 5G comes with a 4400mAh battery with 25W wired and 10W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. It is already on sale in China, which converts to over $2000 plus USD dollars.
