The South Korean tech giant, Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Buds2 during the company’s Unpacked event. Well, this is Samsung’s latest gadget and it comes with a whole new design and supports up to 7.5 hours standalone battery life.
Samsung Galaxy Buds2 joins the others in the family – Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds Pro. For starters, the Galaxy Buds2 comes with the iconic curved shape and features the ‘Earbud fit test’ in the Galaxy Wearable app to fit your ears.
It comes with an improved sound system performance, each bud features a trio of speakers, which provides what Samsung is calling “impressive call quality” and is also responsible for the active noise cancellation (ANC) when listening to pieces of music.
The Active Noise Cancellation feature helps block unwanted sound, and Samsung claims, it blocks up to 98% of noise. It also features a dedicated Voice pickup unit (VPU) that helps filter in only your voice to the other party and not external noises.
As part of its key features, the Galaxy Buds2 sports three adjustable Ambient Sound levels, with the Ambient Modes support for those cases, you’ll actually hear what’s going on around you. It comes with dynamic two-way speakers for crisp, clear high notes and deep bass.
For calls there is a machine learning-based solution that filters out a variety of distracting background noises, which adapt to external sounds like cars, wind, emergency vehicles.
The Galaxy Buds2 comes in four colors – Graphite, White, Oliver Green, and Lavender, while the charging case comes in a white color. It supports IPX2 Splash resistant, each Buds2 measures 21.1mm and weighs 5g.
With ANC turned on, the 61mAh battery on each Buds2 can give you 5 hours of music playback, and up to 7.5 hours with ANC turned off. The 472mAh battery total on the Buds2 charging case is equal to the Buds Pro.
Samsung ensured extended period of time for the charging case, as it can further extend the battery life to a maximum of 29 hours with ANC turned off. The company also added the fast charging support, which can provide up to 1 hour of playback with 5 mins of charging time.
Samsung Galaxy Buds2 comes with Bluetooth 5.2 supports, few supported codecs and some sensors such as accelerometer, gyro, and proximity. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 costs $149.99 (NGN61,700 Nigerian Naira) and will roll out starting from August 27th.
