Samsung officially adds a new mobile phone with ‘s’ to its Galaxy A series – Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G with 25W charger, AMOLED 120Hz refresh rate, and it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset.
The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is the direct successor to the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G, and it comes with a number of upgraded specifications and features. Starting with the chipset, charger, and others, while the camera and others remain the same.
For starters, the Galaxy A52s 5G sports the same 6.5-inch FHD+ 1080 pixels Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display with supports for 120Hz refresh rate, and sports up to 800nits brightness. The fingerprint sensor is embedded inside the display as usual.
It comes with a hole-punch camera cutout, which houses the 32-megapixels selfie camera with a fixed-focus f/2.2 lens. Around the back panel is the QUAD-camera setup, offering the main 64-megapixels f/1.8 lens with OIS (optical image stabilization).
In combination, there is the f/2.2 12-megapixels ultra-wide-angle camera and dual 5-megapixels depth and macro lens. The Galaxy A52s comes with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, allowing it to be submerged in up to 1m of freshwater for 30 minutes.
The Galaxy A52s is 8.4mm thick, weighs 189g, and comes in Awesome Mint, Awesome Violet, Awesome White, Awesome Black color option. Connectivity options include 5G SA / NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi , Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and NFC support.
It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 778G 6nm processor coupled with 2.4GHz Kryo 670 CPUs, which is more powerful compared to the A52’s Snapdragon 750G chipset. It comes with Adreno 642L GPU.
Samsung Galaxy A52s is available in 6GB / 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage, and fortunately, you can easily any of the above memory configurations up to 1TB through a micro SD card.
It runs Android 11 with Samsung One UI 3.1, and comes with Hybrid Dual SIM, offering nano + nano / microSD. Other specifications include the Samsung Pay support, a 3.5mm audio jack, Stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos.
For the battery capacity, it is still at 4500mAh, which Samsung claims is enough for two days of use but it now comes with a 25W charger, identical to the Galaxy A72 5G and better than the 15W on the predecessor.
The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G starts at £409 ($562 / NGN231,485 Nigerian Naira approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version in the UK. Starting from September 3rd, the device will be available for order and pre-orders from 24th August. It is expected to roll out in Europe soon.
