The South Korean giant, Samsung unveils its latest 5G mobile handset – Samsung Galaxy A22 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 700 and also introduces the LTE model known as Samsung Galaxy A22 with MediaTek Helio G80 processor.
Samsung’s newest Smartphones are the latest addition to the company’s Galaxy A-series. On its UK press release, the company notable said “A super-fast 5G device, with 90Hz super-smooth display made for every day.”
However, these phones are just day-to-day mid-range handsets, where the differences and similarities are quite noticeable, starting from the display size, processor, and then to the camera.

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G
Obviously, this is the 5G variant, featuring a 6.6-inch LCD screen with Infinity-V notch, 1080 pixels, responsible for the Full HD+ resolution and comes with support for 90Hz refresh rate for smooth screen scrolling.
It comes with a plastic back build, comes in Gray, White, Mint, and Violet colors options, features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 9.0mm thick, and weighs 203g.
On the back, it arrives with a 48-megapixels rear camera with f/1.8 lens, 5-megapixels ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 lens, and 2-megapixels depth sensor. The Galaxy A22 5G Infinity-U holds a single f/2.0 8-megapixels selfie shooter.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 700 7nm processor with Cortex-A76 clocking at 2.2GHz and Cortex-A55 CPUs at 2GHz coupled with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and runs Android 11 with OneUI 3.1 out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G is available in 4GB RAM in either 64GB / 128GB storage and 6GB / 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, any of your choice will support memory expansion up to up to 1TB through a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
The connectivity includes 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and NFC. The Galaxy A22 5G comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and better sound quality by Dolby Atmos.
It is fueled by a 5000mAh battery with 15W fast charging through a USB Type-C. The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G 4GB/64GB costs €229 ($277), the 4GB/128GB is priced at €249 ($302) and these will roll out in Europe starting from June.

On this side of the coin, we’ve just got another 6.4-inch 20:9 Infinity-U Super AMOLED display, which ditches the 5G’s 1080pixels for a normal 720pixels HD+ resolution but still supports a 90Hz refresh rate.
It got the same plastic build and comes in the same colors – Gray, White, Mint, and Violet. It supports a side-mounted fingerprint reader, but less thick at 8.4mm than the 5G variant, and even weighs lesser at 186g.
There is the same 48-megapixels rear camera with f/1.8 lens and we’ve got OIS support with LED flash, 8-megapixels ultra-wide camera, and dual 2-megapixels for depth/mono sensor. It comes with a 13-megapixels f/2.0 front camera.
We’ve got a different processor this time around, the Samsung Galaxy A22 is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 12nm processor with its Core CPUs, Cortex-A75 and 6x Cortex-A55 clocking at 2GHz processor counts.
Coupled with ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU, which provides better graphic design during gameplay. It isn’t much of a gaming processor but proves to do little to the job than its powerful successors.
Availability starts at 4GB RAM with 64GB/128GB (eMMC 5.1) storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB (eMMC 5.1) storage and both are expandabl up to 256GB with microSD. These phones including the 5G model uses LPDDR4x RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 4GB RAM / 64GB storage option costs €209 ($253), the 4GB RAM / 128GB storage version goes for €229 ($277) and these will officially roll out in Europe starting from June.
