Redmi 9 Power goes official with 6000mAh battery and Snapdragon 662

Redmi 9 Power announced with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen, triple rear cameras setup, 8-megapixels front-facing camera sensor, 6000mAh battery, and it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 processor.

The Redmi 9 Power is Xiaomi under its Redmi brand latest Smartphone in its Redmi 9 series. And it looks more like Redmi Note 9 4G mobile handset that was launched in China last month. The only difference is the additional 2MP camera.

On the front is a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with 400 nits brightness, 1080 pixels screen resolution, with 90.34% screen-to-body ratio and the screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The rear panel arrives with a plastic back with Aura Power design, which supports the anti-fingerprint texture and Redmi branding. On the side is the fingerprint sensor, IR sensor, with 162.3 × 77.3 × 9.6mm dimensions and weighs 198grams.

Around the back is a triple rear camera setup, aligned vertically, there is a primary f/1.79 48-megapixels rear camera with Samsung GM1 sensor and LED Flash support, and it is supported by a secondary f/2.2 8-megapixels 120° ultra-wide sensor.

The other supported cameras include the 2-megapixels depth sensor and 2-megapixels macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front is a waterdrop notch display that houses a single 8-megapixels front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Other features include a 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, Stereo speakers, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, and GPS. There is a P2i coating for splash resistance.

It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 11nm Mobile Platform with Quad 2GHz / 1.8GHz Kryo 260 CPUs and supports Adreno 610 GPU. The device runs on Android 10 OS out of the box with MIUI 12 on top.

The Redmi 9 Power comes in two variant, there is the 4GB RAM with 64GB and 128GB storage, and you can expand the memory up to 512GB via a dedicated MicroSD card slot. Redmi 9 Power comes in Mighty Black, Fiery Red, Electric Green, and Blazing Blue color options.

Redmi says the 6000mAh battery on the Redmi 9 Power comes with a 22.5W fast charger in the box. The company confirms that its boosts battery life up to 26h FHD video playback, 13.5h of gaming, and up to 45h VoLTE calling.

In addition to that, the company says that it will last for over 1000 charging cycles so that it will last for over 3 years. The Redmi 9 Power 64GB variant costs Rs. 10,999 ($150) and Rs. 11,999 ($163) for the 128GB starting from December 22nd.
