This is the upgraded version of the 2019 Redmi 8A, it is the Redmi 8A Dual with 6.22-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display, Snapdragon 439 SoC with 2GB or 3GB RAM, dual rear camera and 5000mAh battery capacity.
Redmi officially announced the Redmi 8A in September 2019 but in the second week of February 2020, we have a successor and an upgraded device.
The new Redmi 8A Dual acts by its name, as it arrives with a dual rear camera setup, which was not seen on the first 8A. Meanwhile, other specifications remain the same.

The Redmi 8A Dual arrives with the same, 6.22-inch (1520 × 720 pixels) HD+ 19:9 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Sports an Aura XGrip Design for a better handgrip on the plastic back panel, and Splash resistant (P2i coating) for any slight water spill.
It packs a dual-camera setup on the back, the 13-megapixels and, the secondary 2-megapixels depth sensor modules. While the dot-notch display holds the 8-megapixels camera with Portrait Mode.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t still support fingerprint sensor scanner on either side, in-screen or rear, but it does support AI Face unlock and other connectivity options.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the same chipset on the Redmi 8A, Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 GPU, in either 2GB / 3GB LPDDR3 RAM options.
It arrives with a 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage, which is fortunately expandable up to 512GB with microSD and it runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 11 out of the box.
Like the predecessor, it sports a gigantic 5000mAh battery capacity with 18W fast charging (10W charger in the box) via USB Type-C port and support for reverse charging.
The Redmi 8A Dual 2GB RA / 32GB storage variant is priced at INR6,499 ($90/€84), while it requests for an additional INR500 ($7/€6) more for the 3GB RAM / 32GB storage model.
Furthermore, you can purchase the phone starting from the 18th of February, 2020 via Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores. It will start hitting on offline retailer shops sooner or later.
