Rumors after rumors, and finally, the Redmi brand officially announces its next mid-range Smartphone among its first Redmi series – Redmi 10 with a major upgrade and advanced specs than the vanilla series.
The new Redmi 10 comes with a 90Hz AdaptiveSync display, and it is the first in the series, which offers different refresh rates depending on what you are using the device, for the time being, it ranges from 45Hz / 60Hz / 90Hz with its 6.5-inch 1080pixels FHD+ IPS LCD screen.
It sports Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and supports Dual SIM. It is 8.95mm thick, weighs 181g, and comes in a unique matte Carbon Gray and Pebble White with a smooth fingerprint-proof finish, and it is available in impressive textured glossy Sea Blue colors.
The Redmi 10 comes with a volume up/down button and a power button on the side, which doubles as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and there is an Infrared sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, Stereo speakers, and support for FM Radio.
The Redmi 10 comes with five cameras in total, offering QUAD-rear camera support on the rear panel, including an f/1.8 50-megapixels sensor, and this might be the first in its category, tho, the Redmi Note series does not count in this statistics as the lens are higher.
Alongside the main camera, there is an 8-megapixels ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixels macro camera, and a 2-megapixels depth sensor. While the front punch-hole camera cutout houses a single 8-megapixels f/2.0 lens.
It runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 and sports a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging through USB Type-C, and an in-box 22.5W charger. It also offers 9W reverse wired charging. After all, the Redmi series is popularly known for having larger battery life, and this is no different.
Redmi 10 is the world’s first phone to be powered by MediaTek Helio G88 12nm processor with 2GHz Cortex-A75 and 2GHz Cortex-A55 CPUs coupled with ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. The Helio G88 is just the modified Helio G85 chips offering support for a higher refresh rate at 1080p+ resolution.
You can find the phone in few memory configurations, there is the 4GB RAM in either 64GB also 128GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. Both storage models support memory expansion through microSD. These use the LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.

The Redmi 10 4GB RAM / 64GB storage option costs $180 (NGN74,124 Nigerian Naira), while the 4GB RAM / 128GB storage goes for $200 (NGN82,360 Nigerian Naira) and the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage variant will go for $220 (NGN90,595 Nigerian Naira)
While these phone variants will officially roll out starting from August 20th. There are reports from China, that the Redmi 10 phone will arrive in Malaysia first, while the 4GB/128GB will not be available, the base model will go for MYR650, and MYR750 for the 6GB/128GB model.
