RedMagic’s new flagship gaming phones for the global markets go official with Qualcomm’s latest chipset, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The RedMagic 7 Pro arrives with nubia’s signature cooling system, alongside its built-in turbofan.
It comes with a 6.8-inch 1080 pixels Full HD+ 20:9 AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support, with up to 960Hz touch sampling rate. It features 10bit color depth and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, with up to 600nits brightness, and DC dimming.
Not that essential, but it’s a smartphone already. The company built a triple camera setup around the back panel of the handset, featuring a 64-megapixels rear camera, 8-megapixels 120-degree ultra-wide lens, and 2-megapixels macro camera.
The RedMagic 7 Pro is a gaming Smartphone, hence the anti-sweat and ergonomic design of the shoulder triggers make them more comfortable and ensure their accuracy throughout the player’s gaming experience.
It also comes with a 500Hz touch sampling shoulder trigger, which brings a response speed as low as 7.4ms. The shoulder triggers make use of a five-channel high-performance custom IC to enable a smoother gaming experience and also support a variety of complex actions that can all be custom-made by the player.
The RedMagic 7 Pro uses an Adreno next-gen GPU, comes in 16GB LPDDR5 6400 RAM with 256GB / 512GB / 1TB (UFS 3.1) internal memory, and runs Android 12 with RedMagic OS 5.0 out of the box. It comes with nubia’s signature cooling system, with its built-in turbofan.
It also arrives with an under-display camera (UDC) technology, 16-megapixels sensor featuring a tripod-shaped pixel arrangement and wave-shaped electrode wiring. The company built the Obsidian version with cool lighting effects featuring RGB breathing lights.
It also includes seven layers of high-transparency materials, a built-in UDC Pro screen display chip, and more. Operated by the ACE circuit design, the entire screen is perfect for display and shooting. The front camera holds a under-screen fingerprint sensor.
Others features include a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers, Dual Smart PA, it measures 9.98mm, and weighs around 235g. The connectivity includes 5G NSA /SA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (L1/L5)+ GLONASS, and NFC support.
With a 5000mAh dual-cell battery, the RedMagic 7 Pro promises enough life span for your intensive gaming. However, the global version has a 65W quick air-cooled charging port with a 65W GaN charger, support Quick Charge 5 Technology via USB Type-C.
The RedMagic 7 Pro comes in two major models, the Obsidian color variant costs $799 / €799 / £679 with 16GB RAM, and 256GB storage, while the Supernova color with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage goes for $899 / €899 / £759. The phone is available for purchase right now.
