With impressive 50-megapixels cameras, Snapdragon 680 6nm processor, realme 9i goes official in India. The new handset will be available from January 22nd as a part of early sale through Flipkart, realme.com, and offline stores and the first sale will begin from January 25th.
The realme 9i is the direct successor to the realme 8i that was introduced in India around September ending. During the launch, Madhav Sheth, CEO realme India, VP, realme, and President, realme International Business Group said:

The realme 9i is the first Smartphone among the 9 series, which suggests that we will be seeing more within the series in no time. It comes with a 6.6-inch 1080 pixels Full HD+ LCD screen, with support for a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate, ranging from 30Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz.
It packs a 180Hz touch sampling rate with up to 480 nits brightness and a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. The water-drop notch display on the top houses a single 16-megapixels front camera with f/2.1 aperture, which brings stunning selfie shots.
Around the back are a triple camera setup, a primary f/1.8 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor, 2-megapixel B&W portrait sensor, and a 2-megapixel sensor for 4cm macro shots with f/2.4 aperture and LED flash support. This is identical to the realme 8i.
On the outside panel is a fine-cutting edge design, featuring a fine line design, with the company name written at the down-left side in italics, supports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and comes in Blue Quartz and Black Quartz colors options.
The realme 9i is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 680 6nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 610 GPU. Unlike the 18W on the predecessor, it also comes with a 5000mAh battery capacity and brings support for 33W fast charging via a USB Type-C connector.
The basic model is a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, while the bigger variant is a 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, it uses realme’s powerful Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) technology that allows the 6GB of memory to be expanded by up to 5GB to make 11GB for an even smoother experience.
However, any of the storage options support memory expansion up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD, it uses LPPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. The realme 9i comes with Dual SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, and GPS + GLONASS for positioning.

It packs a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers, thick at 8.4mm, and it weighs 190g. The pricing is the same with the predecessor, where the realme 9i 4GB RAM / 64GB storage option costs Rs. 13999 (USD $188) and Rs. 15999 (USD $214.98) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.
