Qualcomm announces its latest chipset, it is the Snapdragon 768G 5G with updateable GPU drivers and comes with faster Qualcomm Kryo 475 CPU Prime core clock speed up to 2.8 GHz compared to 2.4 GHz in the Snapdragon 765G.

The Snapdragon 765G was previously released back in December last year, and it is quite identical to its successor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G chipset. Where both improves mobile gaming experiences.

It arrives with an overclocked CPU and GPU, an integrated 5G modem, and faster than its predecessor. It is quite notable that 3the two 765 processors were Qualcomm’s first chipsets to feature integrated 5G modems.

This is quite different from the Snapdragon 865 SoC with an in-built 5G that was launched with the Snapdragon 765G in December, which still requires a separate cellular modem.

The new Snapdragon 768G 5G carries an integrated Snapdragon X52 modem with support for both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G as well as compatibility with both standalone and non-standalone 5G networks.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G

Few differences are noted but the most salient difference is the Qualcomm Adreno 620 GPU, which the company promised would offer up to 20 percent improved performance over the standard Snapdragon 765.

This comes with faster Qualcomm Kryo 475 CPU Prime core clock speed up to 2.8 GHz compared to 2.4 GHz in the 765G and also promises up to 15% faster graphics rendering than Snapdragon 765G.

It also comes with support for 120Hz display, 4K HDR10 PQ, and HLG Video Playback. Also support up to 22 MP dual camera, Up to 192MP single camera, Qualcomm Spectra 355 Image Sensor Processor (14-bit dual-ISP), Rec.

The Snapdragon 768G will be seen first on Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition. Qualcomm says “This gives players control of their GPU driver updates and settings to provide peak display refresh rates that unlock premium visual fidelity on their favorite games,”

Qualcomm also said that the new chipset is here to “deliver immersive gaming experiences and truly global 5G”. Carries Samsung 7nm EUV (7LPP) Process Technology, and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology, Quick Charge AI.

The connectivity includes 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6-ready), Integrated 802.11ac Wave 2 x 2 MU-MIMO, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, Dual-frequency GNSS, NavIC, GPS, GNSS, QZSS, SBAS, USB 3.1, and USB-C.
