Qualcomm announces a 5G-enabled successor to its Snapdragon 730G processor, it is the new Snapdragon 750G 5G as the company’s latest 7-series Snapdragon processor with an integrated X52 5G modem and support for both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G.
The mmWave 5G can hit peak download speeds of 3.7 Gbps, which better and improved, up from the 2.5 Gbps. The company said that this is a truly global 5G chipset with multi-SIM support.
The new Snapdragon 730G offers a faster alternative to the Snapdragon 690 chip and an improved CPU and graphics performance compared to the Snapdragon 730G. It is a global 5G chipset with AI-powered noise suppression and support for 120fps gaming.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G comes with an octa-core Kryo 570 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz that delivers 20% more performance than the S730G processor. It sports Adreno 619 GPU that Qualcomm says offers up to 10% faster than the Snapdragon 730G’s Adreno 618 GPU.
Qualcomm also offers Game Color Plus and Adreno HDR Fast Blend is on board for efficient rendering of HDR10 graphics. Alongside is the newer and updated Kryo 570 CPU that offers a 20% performance improvement over the Kryo 470 on the Snapdragon 730G.
The camera hardware can record 4K HDR10 video (with HLG) and 4K HDR with a bokeh effect. It also comes with support for a 120Hz displays, up to 1080p+ resolution. It also comes with FastConnect 6200, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Similar to the others, it also offers QuickCharge 4+ support. Also available is the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming features for a smooth, low-latency gaming experience with support for LPDDR4x 2133MHz up to 12GB.
The AI hardware can deliver up to 4.0 TOPS, offering Fluence AI noise suppression system, that Qualcomm says it is 20% more than the Snapdragon 730G. Such features were taken from Qualcomm’s higher-performance and newer chips, like the company’s fifth-generation AI engine.
Qualcomm also added some features that are mind-blowing, it is the audio processing system that can boost whisper-level input to comfortably audible levels. With the bespoke optimizations, the AI engine will accelerate Snapchat filters.
The company has also promised its sub-premium 7-series lineup, offering more high-end features at cheaper price points for customers. Xiaomi noted that its Smartphone will be the first to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest chips, and it is coming by the end of 2020.
