OPPO Reno5 Pro+ announced as the third Smartphone in the company’s latest Reno5 series. It comes with a 6.55-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen, 32-megapixels selfie camera, and it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM.
In collaboration with artist Joshua Vides, OPPO also announced a Reno5 Pro+ Artist limited edition that arrives with a Color-changing back designed. Pre-orders start from January 18th and will be available in China from January 22nd. The 12GB + 256GB costs 4499 yuan ($688).
This has a surreal two-dimensional style pattern on the back cover that uses electrochromic technology to switch the back of the phone between gray and blue which can be changed with two taps. Similar to what the OnePlus 8T concept is offering.
The Reno5 Pro+ is OPPO’s latest top-end smartphone in the Reno series, while others in the lineup include the OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G. These handsets all come with 90Hz refresh rate support and other similarities.
OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus comes with a 6.55-inch 1080 pixels Full HD+ 3D 90Hz OLED display with up to 1100nits peak brightness, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and boasts of 92.10% screen-to-body ratio.
Inside the punch-hole located at the top left is the 32-megapixels selfie camera sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Around the back is a QUAD-camera setup, 16-megapixels ultra-wide camera, 13-megapixels telephoto camera with 5x hybrid zoom, and a 2-megapixels macro camera.
The main sensor is the 50-megapixels Sony IMX766 sensor, and it is the first phone to feature Sony’s sensor. It comes with support 1.0μm pixel size, DOL-HDR (Digital Overlap High Dynamic Range) technology, and a Live HDR video algorithm.
Other features of the sensor are Full-pixel omnidirectional focusing technology, for faster and more accurate focusing, video tracking focus, automatic locking of moving and static subjects, real-time prediction of movement and more.
It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 650 GPU and comes in two major variants, 8GB RAM with 128GB / 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. It uses LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
It runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1, features an in-display fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C Audio, 159.9 × 72.5 × 7.99mm dimension, weighs 184g, and comes with Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and NFC.
The device is fueled by a 4500mAh battery with 65W Super Flash Charge (SuperVOOC 2.0) fast charging through USB Type-C. The OPPO Reno5 Pro+ 8GB RAM / 128GB storage version costs 3999 yuan ($612), while the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs 4499 yuan ($688). It’s available for order and will go on sale starting from December 29th.
