Chinese Smartphone maker, OPPO launches two budgeted mid-range Smartphones in both China and India – Oppo A95 5G and OPPO A53s 5G mobile handsets. The Oppo A95 5G comes with the same chipset and screen as the Oppo Reno 5Z.
These phones were officially launched in OPPO’s A-series lineup but at the same time, they are totally different from each other and the only similarity is the 5G modem. OPPO A95 5G offers more premium specifications than the A53s 5G.
OPPO A95 5G
It comes with a 6.43” Full HD+ AMOLED panel display with support for a standard 60Hz refresh rate, and there is a punch hole in the upper left corner that houses a single 16-megapixels front-facing camera for better selfie shot.
Well, the lens is just basic triple rear cameras housed inside the camera mansion, vertically arranged together with LED flash support. This includes the main 48-megapixels sensor, 8-megapixels ultrawide, and 2-megapixels macro lens.
The OPPO A95 5G is completely powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset with 8GB RAM and in two storage configurations – 128GB / 256GB internal storage, and offers memory expansion with a MicroSD card for up to 2TB.
It sports a connector on the bottom, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1 support and comes in three trendy colors – Black, White, and Dawn Blue options.
The A53s 5G arrives with a 4,310mAh battery capacity with 30W fast charging through the USB-C port and runs on ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 OS out of the box.
The 128GB costs CNY1,999 ($310/€255) and CNY2,299 ($355/€295) for the 256GB storage option.
OPPO A53s 5G
In India, OPPO announced the A53s 5G with 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen, 720 pixels screen resolution with up to 480 nits brightness, 71% NTSC color gamut, and boasts of 88.7% screen-to-body ratio.
It is 8.4mm thick, weighs 189.6g, and comes in Crystal Blue and Ink Black color options. It arrives with a 3.5mm audio jack and sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor scanner.
The OPPO A53s isn’t as powerful as the A95 5G but it is driven by MediaTek Dimensity 700 7nm chipset, with Dual 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 and Hexa 2GHz Cortex-A55 CPUs. It comes with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
It is available in different memory configurations, 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, fortunately, it is expandable up to 1TB via a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
OPPO embedded the RAM expansion feature that re-optimizes the unused RAM to improve the performance of this smartphone. It runs ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 OS out of the box.
The cameras are non-fascinating, offering a primary 13-megapixels rear camera with an f/2.2 lens, PDAF, and LED flash support. The secondary cameras are dual f/2.4 2-megapixels sensors both depth / macro lens.
Inside the waterdrop notch display is an 8-megapixels front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS / GLONASS / Beidou.
The A53s 5G arrives with a 5000mAh battery with no mention of fast charging technology. But it draws its power from a USB Type-C connector, located at the bottom.
The 6GB RAM / 128GB storage costs Rs. 14,990 ($200) and the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage goes for Rs. 16,990 ($227). Starting from May 2nd, you can order via Flipkart online and offline stores.
