OPPO A72 5G measures 7.9mm and weigh 175 in grams. The back panel comes with gradient design, triple cameras in a four corner shape, 3.5mm audio jack headphone, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
At the top left of the screen display, the A72 5G carries an 8-megapixels selfie shooter with an f/2.0 lens, which is quite different from the 16-megapixels on the A72 4G LTE version.
Even the back cameras are way different from each other, A72 5G comes with the 16-megapixel primary camera, secondary 8-megapixel lens as the ultra-wide sensor, and 2-megapixel as the mono sensor.
On the other hand, the A72 LTE variant comes with a QUAD-rear camera, main 48MP lens, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. Both feature Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, USB Type-C as its connectivity.
Thanks to the Dimensity 720 chipset, the A72 5G comes with support for 5G SA/NSA, Mali-G57 MC3 for graphic processing, and available in a single 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
A72 5G supports Dual SIM, Dirac 2.0 sound enhancements, and runs on ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10 OS out of the box. OPPO plated a 4040mAh battery with 18W charging via USB Type-C, instead of the 5000mAh on the A72 LTE.
Certainly, the 90GHz refresh rate and 5G network will reduce the juice of the phone and would have requiredd higher mAh to keep running for another few hours. But during the Dimensity 720 introduction, the company assured us that it is using its own MediaTek 5G UltraSave technology suite to reduce power consumption.
The side-mounted fingerprint scanner can unlock the phone in 0.28 seconds. The OPPO A72 5G is already available for pre-order in China for 1899 yuan ($270), which is for its only single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. Beginning from July 31, it will start going on sale.
