OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R and OnePlus Watch announced

    In a single launch event, OnePlus announced three major phones – OnePluss 9 series including the OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro, and the budgeted OnePlus 9R. The company also announced the OnePlus Watch with IP68 water and dust resistance.

    These three Smartphones come with 4500mAh and support for Warp Charge 65W charging that can charge the phone fully in just 29 minutes. The charger also supports up to 45W PD charging so that it supports devices such as laptops or tablets.

    Where the OnePlus 9R lacks support for wireless charging, and the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro supports wireless charging, but the North American and European versions of the OnePlus 9 also support up to 15W Qi wireless charging.

    As expected, the OnePlus 9R is literally an OnePlus 8T but it is powered by a 7nm Snapdragon 870 SoC with one of its CPU cores going up to a 3.2GHz, Adreno 650 GPU, paired with either 8GB RAM / 128GB or 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.

    It packs a flat 6.55” 20:9 Fluid AMOLED display with 1080p+ resolution and an HDR10+ certification. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The PPI is 402 with 1100 nits brightness and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

    The OnePlus 9R cameras are thoughtful, featuring a QUAD-rear camera setup, where the primary sensor is a 48-megapixels Sony IMX586 sensor with OIS. It is supported by Sony IMX481 16-megapixels 123º ultrawide camera lens.

    Others include 5-megapixels macro and 2-megapixels monochrome cameras. With the 48MP primary camera, the phone can record 4K video at 60 fps and capture slow-motion clips (240 fps at 1080p, 480 fps at 720p).

    It also features Video Portrait mode and EIS on top of OIS for extra smooth footage. There is a 16-megapixel in-screen camera with a Sony IMX471 sensor, f/2.4, and EIS. The connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and GPS/GLONASS.

    Unlike the others in the OnePlus 9 series, the 9R arrives with a polycarbonate back with a matte finish. It is thick at 8.4mm, weighs 189g, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and features USB Type-C audio, Dual Stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos.

    With the Snapdragon 870 chipset powering the OnePlus 9R, it can be seen as a gaming Smartphone and comes with a larger vapor chamber to keep the temperature low during gaming sessions – as available on all the OnePlus 9 series.

    Fortunately, the OnePlus 9R comes with a 4,500mAh battery capacity with support for Warp Charge 65, where a full charge takes 29 minutes and 15mins charge can last you for a day. This is similar to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro Smartphone.

    However, it does not support wireless charging and the charger also supports up to 45W PD charging so that it supports devices such as laptops or tablets. It runs Android 11 with OxygenOS 11.

    The OnePlus 9R will be available in Carbon Black and Lake Blue color options, where the 8GB/128GB option costs INR 40,000 price tag ($550/€465) and the 12GB/256GB version goes for INR 44,000 ($605/€510). It will be available next month via Amazon.in, OnePlus.in and other channels soon.

    The OnePlus 9 comes in Winter Mist, which uses Arctic Sky, and Astral Black. It gives a glossy look, thanks to the fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame with a new metalization process, and comes with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the back.

    It also packs a 4,500mAh battery (Twin 2250mAh batteries) with support for wired Warp Charge 65T, which can provide up to 100% in 29 minutes and features 15W Qi wireless charging. Actually, this is the first non-Pro model of the family to come with this support.

    OnePlus 9 arrives with a 6.55-inch 1080p Full HD+ 402 PPI 20:9 120Hz (non-adaptive) refresh rate with the first generation Fluid display. It has HDR 10+, 1100 nits brightness, and packs Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

    It is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 888 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU paired with 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. It runs on Android 11 OS out of the box with the company’s OxygenOS 11 skin on top.

    A few weeks ago, OnePlus announced that its new partnership deal with Hasselblad cameras, which flew on Apollo 11 to the moon. However, it is a three-year, $150 million partnership and both OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will begin that journey.

    It arrives with a 1/1.43” 48-megapixels rear camera with a Sony IMX689 sensor, and it is almost identical to the Pro version. But the OnePlus lacks OIS, a telephoto lens, and supports HDR instead of the DOL-HDR on the PRO.

    While other cameras remain the same, the 50-megapixels 1/1.56″ Sony IMX766 ultra-wide camera with curved Freeform lens, ultra-wide camera also lets you shoot 4cm macro images and a 2-megapixels monochrome lens.

    Camera features include 12-bit RAW in Pro mode, Nightscape Video 2.0, UltraShot HDR, Tilt-shift mode, Video HDR, Video Portrait, Focus Tracking, and more. The Hasselblad Pro Mode is still on, losses 4K 120 fps mode but still shoots 8K 30 fps mode, and 4K 60 fps).

    The OnePlus 9 will be available from Amazon.in, OnePlus.in and other channels from April 15th. Where the 8GB/128GB version costs $730/EUR 700 and the 12GB/256GB model goes for $830/EUR 800.

    This is actually the premium of the OnePlus 9 series, offering the Fluid Display 2.0 and comes with the ability to adjust the Smart 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth UI, such as 24Hz for movies / 90Hz for Fortnite / even 1Hz for reading text or showing the Always On Display.

    It packs a 6.7” Quad HD AMOLED LTPO panel, which promises up to 50% power savings in general usage and a 360Hz touch sampling rating which improves response times when gaming. It has HDR 10+ support, 1300 nits brightness, 20:9 aspect ratio, MEMC, and automatic color temperature adjustment.

    OnePlus 9 Pro even received an A+ rating from DisplayMate, and other features include flat Corning Gorilla Glass protection, front and back ambient light sensing, and more. The 1440p+ display is built using the E4 emitting material and native 10-bit color depth.

    The front is a curved pane of Gorilla Glass, with an aluminum frame sandwiched between two panes of glass. It features an in-display fingerprint scanner, and the body is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance.

    Like the OnePlus 9, the back panel has several options, where the new hero color is Pine Green with a soft double-layer matte finish. Where the Morning Mist shows a silver-to-black gradient and Stellar Black has a frosted finish that recalls the trademark sandstone look.

    Hasselblad mode is also available on the OnePlus 9 but the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with its better quality. The primary Sony IMX789 48-megapixels comes with a large 1/1.43” sensor with 1.12 µm pixels, OIS, dual native ISO, Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR), and 2×2 on-chip lens (OCL).

    The Hasselblad Pro Mode in the camera app will help you fine-tune your photos for a natural look and feel. The main sensor can produce 12-bit RAW images and can also record 8K video at 30 fps as well as 4K at 120 fps.

    Supporting the main camera is the 50-megapixels 1/1.56″ Sony IMX766 ultra-wide camera with curved Freeform Lens that is able to bring edge distortion down to around 1%, compared to 10-20% on most smartphone ultra-wide cameras. The ultra-wide camera also lets you shoot 4cm macro images.

    There’s an 8-megapixels telephoto camera with support for 3.3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom. And another 2-megapixels black & white monochrome camera. It lacks a periscope lens and comes with a Sony IMX471 16-megapixels sensor selfie shooter.

    Powering up the device is an Octa-Core Snapdragon 888 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU, and similar to others, it comes with a larger vapor chamber, thicker graphite sheets, and more copper foil for a higher capacity to pull heat away.

    It is paired with 8GB RAM with 128GB storage / 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and runs on Android 11 with OxygenOS 11. It is thick at 8.7mm, weighs 197g, and comes with USB Type-C audio, and Dual Stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos.

    Unlike other Smartphones in the series, it arrives with Warp Charge 50 Wireless, its a new wireless charger that offers two coils, allowing you to charge the 9 PRO vertically or horizontally providing a full 1-100% charge in 43 minutes and it is sold separately.

    The OnePlus 9 Pro 8GB/128GB costs $970 / EUR 900 and the 12GB RAM / 256GB storage goes for $1,070 / EUR 1,000. Pre-orders start today and will be available for purchase from Amazon.in, OnePlus.in and other channels starting from 31st March as part of the early access sale and others can get it from 1st April.

    Alongside the OnePlus 9, Oneplus 9 Pro, and OnePlus 9R, the company also announced its wearables, it is the OnePlus Watch with a round design that radically emulates the look of a traditional watch.

    It comes with a 46mm stainless steel case with 2.5D curved glass on the face and a subtle yet radiant glossy CD pattern on the display bezel for an added touch of class.

    The company said the OnePlus Watch comes with a smooth arc on the side of the case that is hand-polished with more than 20 treatments for a refined finish.

    It is a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen watch that provides a convenient view and responds to notifications and packs a bunch of impressive features and specifications. Where you can make and answer phone calls, play music and take photos.

    In order to make it smarter, the OnePlus Watch can connect with the OnePlus TV, acting as a smart remote control that can lower volume when a call comes in or even turn off the TV before when it detects that you have fallen asleep.

    It comes with 4GB of standalone storage, but where 2GB has already been used, you are left with another 2GB for storing over 500 songs, and it is compatible with most Bluetooth earbuds for wireless music playback on the go.

    As expected, the Watch comes with support for 5ATM + IP68 water and dust resistance and 110+ workout types. It packs a 402mAh battery with fast charging that offers all-day power in just five minutes or a week’s power in just 20 minutes charge.

    OnePlus also promises up to two weeks of sustainable use, as well as up to a week of power for the most active users. Another amazing feature is the built-in GPS that helps you track all your activity, even when the phone is not next to you.

    OnePlus Watch Cobalt

    It also offers blood oxygen saturation monitoring, stress detection, breathing training, rapid heart rate alerts, and sedentary reminders, all easily manageable on the OnePlus Health app.

    There is the OnePlus Watch Cobalt Limited Edition in Midnight Black and Moonlight Silver colors. It is crafted from cobalt alloy, and the watch face is made from specially-treated sapphire glass.

    It also comes with a Vegan leather strap with a butterfly buckle and an additional Fluoroelastomer strap. The OnePlus Watch costs $159 and will be available for purchase on an Open sale at 11:00 AM EDT, April 14.
