Nothing ear (1) truly wireless earbuds officially announced

Nothing, a UK-based officially launched its first product known as the Nothing ear (1) truly wireless earbuds.

London-based consumer tech company, Nothing’s Carl Pei, CEO, and Co-founder said “Nothing ear (1) is a breath of fresh air in a cluttered and indifferent market”

Teenage Engineering is a founding partner and one of the key driving forces behind the development of the ear (1).

But Nothing was jointly started by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, with funding from Tony Fadell (ex-Apple, Nest), Kevin Lin (Twitch), Steve Huffman (Reddit), Casey Neistat (YouTuber), and Google Ventures, among others.

The Nothing ear (1) is the company’s most-expected true wireless earbuds, and the transparent design makes it stand out among others.

It was made from clear plastic alongside a charging case, allowing you to see through part of the case and also peek at the internals of the wireless earbuds.

From the transparent view, you can be able to see the engineering techniques, including microphones, magnets, and circuit boards.

Nothing said that each earbud also features touch gestures for controlling the playback and ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) modes.

The ear (1) supports Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity with SBC and AAC codecs and each earbud weighs just 4.7g.

It sports an instantly recognizable red color signal for ‘Right’ to the case’s playful fisheye dip that helps secure the buds.

Other impressive features are pressure-relieving vents, an ergonomic fit, and three customizable liquid silicone tips.

The 0.34cc chamber has a single 11.6mm dynamic driver and they also support sweat and water splash resistance.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on the ear (1) uses three high definition mics and two levels of noise cancelation:

    • Light mode for moderate noise cancellation
    • Maximum mode for noisier environments
    • Transparency mode for when you want to be able to hear your surroundings without taking the earbuds off

Well, since the ANC support usually reduces the battery life, you can easily turn the ANC off entirely and enjoy longer battery life.

There is the Clear Voice Technology that is specially developed for ear (1) to reduce distractive background noise, like the wind.

The earbuds can be paired with iOS and Android devices. There is an app available for both to control features such as touch gestures, ANC, EQ, and to update the software.

    Nothing ear (1)

Nothing ear (1) promises up to 5.7 hours of listening time with ANC disabled, up to 4 hours of continuous playback with ANC enabled.

The charging case can provide up to 34 hours of playtime in total. The case can be charged with a USB-C cable or wirelessly with a Qi-certified charger.

It also offers ultra-fast charging, where a 10 minutes charge of the case delivers up to 8 hours of listening for a day’s power.

Other additional features include Find My Earbud, EQ, and Gesture Control customization via the ear (1) App, as well as In-Ear Detection and Fast Pairing.
