Nokia 1.4 is HMD Global’s latest budgeted mobile handset

HMD Global introduces its latest mobile handset, it is the Nokia 1.4 Smartphone with a 6.51-inch HD+ screen, 5-megapixel front camera, and it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 215 Mobile Platform processor.

The Nokia 1.4 is the official successor of Nokia 1.3 that was introduced last year and it is the company’s latest budget smartphone that runs on Google’s Android 10 Go Edition OS.

Unlike the previous year’s Nokia 1.3 with a smaller 5.71” display, where the latest Nokia 1.4 Smartphone offers a slightly bigger 6.517-inch HD+ 20:9 display with 720 pixels screen resolution and waterdrop notch display.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 215 SoC is powering the new device clocking at quad Cortex-A53 @ 1.3 GHz with Adreno 308 GPU. It runs on Android 10 Go Edition out of the box, but as usual, HMD Global is ready to release the Android 11 Go update soon.

You can find the device in three Smartphone variant, there is the primary 1GB RAM with 16GB / 2GB RAM with 32GB storage / 3GB RAM with 64GB storage. Fortunately, you can easily expand any of the following memory options up to 128GB through a dedicated microSD card slot.

Nokia 1.4 handset

It arrives with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and sports a dedicated Google Assistant button. On top is the 3.5mm jack, and it measures 166.42 × 76.72 × 8.7mm, weighs 178g with FM Radio support.

The connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and the MicroUSB port for charging stays under the box. On the right side is the volume up/down button and power button.

Around the back is the Oreo-style camera bump, which houses the primary 8-megapixels rear camera, and supported by a 2-megapixels macro camera with LED flash. Inside the waterdrop notch display is the 5-megapixels front camera for selfies.

The camera comes with Night and Portrait modes, including other basic camera features. There is the Single / Dual SIM option, and it comes in three color options, including the Fjord, Charcoal, and Dusk colors options.

It features a 4000mAh non-removable battery with 5W charging, slightly bigger than the 3000mAh battery on the Nokia 1.3 handset. Anyways, it starts at MSRP €99 ($119) for the basic model and will officially roll out globally.
