The new Motorola Edge S is now on pre-order in China with a 6.7-inch 21:9 aspect ratio, 64-megapixel main camera, and it is powered by the latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 processor.
Motorola Edge S phone comes in either white and Emerald Light color, and you can easily configure the handset in 6GB / 8GB LPPDDR5 of RAM with 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There is also the 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage.
The company promises that the phone will arrive around the 26th of January, and they kept to their promise. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 650 GPU. It comes with Dual SIM, nano + nano.
The Snapdragon 870 chipset is Qualcomm’s latest chipset that is built on a 7nm process. It comes with an 8-core processor with one Cortex-A78 core running at 3.2GHz Octa-core. It comes with 5G SA/NSA support with Snapdragon X55 Modem, which confirms 5G inside the Motorola Edge S.
It runs on Android 11 OS out of the box, comes with IP52 splash-proof, a 3.5mm headphone jack, sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, measures 168.38 × 73.97 × 9.63mm, and weighs 215g.
On the front is a 6.7-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio, with support for 90Hz refresh rate, 560 nits brightness, HDR10, DCI-P3 Color Gamut and it features a screen resolution of 1080 pixels.
Motorola embedded a dual punch-hole into the display that houses two front-facing cameras – the primary 16-megapixels main camera and the secondary 8-megapixels 100° ultra-wide lens. It comes with a feature that can take a selfie for 15 seconds to measure the heart rate.
Around the back are four camera sensors, the main f/1.7 64-megapixels camera with PDAF, LED Flash support, and can also record 6K video capture at 30fps. There is a 2-megapixel fixed-focus depth sensor and a ToF sensor.
Lastly is the 16-megapixels 121° ultra-wide-angle lens that is also capable of capturing 2.8cm macro images with phase-detect autofocus. There is Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS (L1 + L5), and NFC.
It is powered by a massive 5000mAh battery with support for 20W turbo charging through USB Type-C with a 20W adapter in the box. The Motorola Edge S comes with a charger, preinstalled screen protector, cable, and a case.
It will start at 1999 yuan ($309 USD) for the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage version. While the 8GB RAM / 128GB storage version goes for 2399 yuan ($370 USD) and 2799 yuan ($432 USD) for the 256GB storage version. The shipping will kick-off from the 3rd of February.
