Motorola Edge (2021) official with f/1.9 108MP, Snapdragon 778G 6nm chips with 8GB RAM

Motorola Edge (2021) officially launched for the North American market, and it is relatively not as premium or high-end as other smartphones in the company’s Edge series. Actually, it is more like the last year’s Edge for the US market.

The new Edge (2021) comes with a 6.8-inch 1080 pixels FHD+ LCD 144Hz display, HDR10+ certified, offering 576Hz touch latency, 8-bit color, and 20.5:9 aspect ratio panel. Well, there is no curved edge display here.

It will be available in a single Nebula Blue color, 8.99mm thick, and weighs 200g. It comes with a volume up/down button and a power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner. On the bottom is the speaker, 3-microphones.

Motorola Edge (2021) arrives with IP52 water repellant coating, and surprisingly offers support for NFC, and other connectivity options such as 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS.

The phone comes with a primary f/1.9 108-megapixels 1/1.52″ sensor offering 0.7µm pixel size, Ultra Pixel Technology for 2.1µm, accompanied by an ultra-wide 8-megapixels camera with macro mode, and 2-megapixels f/2.4 depth sensor with 1.75µm pixel size.

While the front panel houses a single 32-megapixels selfie shooter with f/2.25 lens, 0.7µm pixel size, and Quad Pixel Technology for 1.4µm. It comes with the Ready For PC functionality that allows you to instantly connect your PC to 5G networks, share files, and use your phone as a webcam all on the same screen.

The Motorola Edge (2021) is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 778G 6nm Mobile Platform with its Kryo 670 CPUs clocking at 2.4GHz, coupled with Adreno 642L GPU and it is available in 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

It boots Android 11 OS without any bloatware and ThinkShield for mobile, new wireless connection capabilities let you move your phone’s games to the big screen and use your apps on a desktop display. It sports a 5000mAh battery with 30W TurboPower fast charging.

Motorola Edge (2021) Pricing

The Motorola Edge (2021) official price is set at $699.99 (NGN288,185 Nigerian Naira approx.), but the company will be offering the device for $499.99 (NGN205,845 Nigerian Naira approx.) for a limited time after launch. It will launch in Canada soon.

At first, the pre-sale starts from August 23rd, and starting from September 2, the new handset will be available in the U.S. unlocked at Best Buy, B&H Photo, Amazon.com, and Motorola.com. While Verizon and Spectrum Mobile are set to offer it in the coming months.
