Meizu 18s and Meizu 18s Pro announced alongside Meizu 18x. These phones run Flyme 9.2 on top of Android 11 and the Meizu 18x is the most affordable starting at 2599 yuan ($401), followed by Meizu 18s at 3,699 yuan ($572) and the Meizu 18s Pro from 4,599 yuan ($711).
Both Meizu 18s and 18s are powered by up to 3.0GHzOcta Core Snapdragon 888+ 5nm chips with Adreno 660 GPU, while the Meizu 18x is driven by Snapdragon 870 7nm chips with one of its Core clocking up to 3.2GHzc coupled with Adreno 650 GPU.
Meizu 18x, Meizu 18s, Meizu 18s Pro mobile handsets are available in 8GB RAM with 128GB / 256GB storage and there is the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant also. These use LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Where the Meizu 18s packs a smaller 6.2”, the 18s Pro comes with a larger 6.2” HDR10+ certified and both come with a Super AMOLED display, 1440p+ resolution, support for 120Hz refresh rate with 240 Hz touch sampling rate and 1,300nits peak brightness.
There is a 5000000:1 (Min) contrast ratio, and the screen supports Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The Meizu 18s and 18s Pro sports in-display 3D second-generation ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which works with wet fingers and can unlock the phone in just 0.1s.
While the cameras are different, both come with an f/2.4 8-megapixels telephoto camera with OmniVision OV08A10 sensor for 3x zoom. Where the Meizu 18s Pro adds an extra 0.3-megapixels ƒ/1.4 ToF sensor with Samsung 33D.
Meizu 18s Pro comes with a Samsung S5KGN1 1/1.3” 50-megapixels ISOCELL GN1 sensor, with 1.2 µm native pixels and 4-in-1 binning support and Dual Pixel AF. It features a custom 7P lens, night mode with ring LED flash, and can record 8K video.
Accompanying the main camera is the f/2.2 32-megapixels Sony IMX616 ultra-wide-angle lens, 2cm macro, and comes with an f/2.4 44-megapixels Samsung GH1 sensor. While the Meizu 18s comes with f/2.2 20-megapixels front-facing camera.
Meizu moved to a primary 1/1.7” 64-megapixels Sony IMX682 sensor with 0.8μm pixel size, with 7P lens (26mm focal length), and identical to the Pro, it still comes with Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) optical image stabilization (OIS) system.
Following up is the 16-megapixels Samsung S5K3P9SX ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.4 lens. On the other hand, the Meizu 18x still packs an f/1.79 64-megapixels Samsung GW3 sensor with 0.8μm pixel size, 6P lens, 8-megapixels ultra-wide-angle lens, and 2-megapixels depth sensor.
The Meizu 18x comes with a single 13-megapixels front-facing camera. These features USB Type-C audio, 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 support, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (L1 + L5), and NFC. The Meizu 18x comes with a Single 1216 linear speaker.
Meizu 18x is 7.99mm thick, weighs 189g, and comes in White, Black, and Blue color option. It comes with a 4300mAh battery with 30W Super mCharge fast charging via USB Type-C support and QuickCharge4+.
The Meizu 18s is 8.18mm thick, weighs 162g, and comes in White, Blue, Pink with Violet, and new Gradient colors. It packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 36W Super mCharge fast charging.
While the Meizu 18s Pro is 8.1mm thick, weighs 189g, and sports a 4,500mAh battery with 40W Super mCharge both over the USB-C port and wirelessly. The mCharge system is compatible with USB Power Delivery 3.0 and QuickCharge 4+.
The company said mentioned that the wired option gets you to 40% charge in 15 minutes, 80% in 33 minutes, and the full 100% is achieved in 55 minutes. All these mobile handsets come with Dual SIM.
