At an event in China, Meizu announces its latest flagship series, it is the Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro 5G with a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED 90Hz high refresh screen, 20MP front camera, and are both powered by Snapdragon 865, 5G SA/NSA support with Snapdragon X55 Modem.
The Meizu 17 and 17 Pro 5G bears little differences from each other, while few of the tech specs are quite identical to each other. After all, both devices support the 5G modem.
The Meizu 17 will be available in China from May 8th, where the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage costs 3699 yuan ($525), while the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model goes for 3999 yuan ($565).
On the other hand, the Meizu 17 Pro will be available in China from May 11th, where the base model, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage is priced at 4299 yuan ($605) and 4699 yuan ($665) for the top-end 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.
It is reported that Meizu is bringing two limited edition versions with the Collectors Edition 17 Pro on May 25 for CNY 9,999 ($1,415). While the Meizu 17 Aircraft Carrier version is coming on May 27th for CNY 4,299 ($605).

Both phones come with a remarkable 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen from Samsung with a polar edge full-screen display with 90Hz high refresh screen, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 2.2mm ultra-narrow bezel and 92.2% screen-to-body ratio.
In a recent update, Meizu is working on an update that will enable a 120Hz refresh rate, and might roll out over the air to everyone. It is confirmed that the Meizu 17 and 17 Pro are getting a 120Hz refresh rate mode with an update.
At the top right is the 2.99mm punch-hole display that houses a 20-megapixels front camera. Both phones come with QUAD-rear camera setup, with the 64-megapixels as its main camera with 1/1.7″ Sony IMX686 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.8, 6P lens, 6 LED ring flash.
There is an 8MP Samsung 4H7 118° ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 12MP depth of field lens with Sony IMX362 sensor with f/1.9 aperture, 5MP macro sensor with Samsung 5E9 sensor, f/1.9 on the Meizu 17.
While the Meizu 17 Pro packs a 32MP Sony IMX616 129° ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2, 3cm macro, 8MP OV08A10 telephoto lens with f/2.4 for 3x zoom, and a 3D Samsung S5K33D ToF sensor with f/1.4.
The Sony IMX616 is a brand new sensor on the 32MP ultra-wide-angle lens and also the first smartphone to feature the Samsung S5K33D 3D depth-sensing camera that comes with features like hardware-level portrait blur to photos and videos.
