MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 to power realme phones

Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company, a well popular chipmaker, and among the World’s top leading processor distributors, MediaTek announces its first-ever 6nm chipsets with Cortex-A78 CPU among the Dimensity series.

While both chipsets offer impressive features, the Dimensity 1200 is the leading processor here offering octa-core CPUs, the A78 core clocked at a speed of 3GHz with up to 22% faster CPU performance.

MediaTek also said that it is 25% more power-efficient when compared with the previous generation. In a more vivid explanation, the Dimensity 1000+ comes with an older A77 core clocked at 2.6GHz, meaning a 3.0GHz A78 is 20% faster than a 2.6GHz A77.

The three more Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.6GHz and the usual quartet of power-efficient A55 cores running at 2.0GHz. It is coupled with ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU and six-core MediaTek APU 3.0 with 12.5% faster performance.

MediaTek also promises that the Dimensity 1200 SoC promises flagship-level premium performance with AI multimedia capabilities, incredible displays, faster refresh rates, gaming enhancements, and much more.

It is built with an integrated 5G modem featuring MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave technology for greater energy savings and supports 5G standalone and non-standalone architectures with True Dual SIM 5G (5G SA + 5G SA).

Well, the Dimensity 1200 processor has an eye for gaming features, as it is powered by MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0 gaming technology, which enhances the smartphone gaming experience with a new generation of wireless audio and Ray Traced graphics capabilities.

The chipset sports the most powerful 5-core ISP imaging and AI processors with up to 200MP camera with MediaTek MiraVision HDR video playback and AV1 video decoding, bringing cinema-grade visual experiences to the small screen.

The Dimensity 1200 also comes with staggered HDR support for 4K videos, it’s three exposures that can be merged into a single frame, the dynamic range is increased by 40%, and features 168Hz @ 1080p displays.

On the other hand, the MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chip comes with support for 144Hz @ 1080p displays and camera sensors up to 108MP. These are 20% faster in processing Night Shot and have a dedicated Night Mode for panoramas.

Dimensity 1100’s four Cortex-A78 cores are clocked at 2.6GHz processor county, which is unlike 1200 with a prime CPU core. Tho, it still comes with ancillary hardware and uses the same GPU with 1200, which is that of 1000-series.

There is an architectural advantage so it should have an edge over the Dimensity 1000+ in both single and multi-core performance. It also comes with AV1 video now has hardware acceleration.
