Design and Display
It is one of the cheapest sliding Smartphone out there, and Lenovo understands the want and interest of the people but they are looking for the budgeted market share. Here is a notch-less Z5 Pro device, which is the successor to the Z5.
The phone will be available in black color option, and you won’t find that back mounted fingerprint sensor scanner but it is built right into the display, which is the underscreen fingerprint sensor.
A lot of sliding smartphones has been launched for a couple of days, but the Lenovo Z5 Pro only arrives with mid-range specs. Features a 6.39-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panel.
The bezels at the top and bottom are radically smaller than an average Smartphone, and you won’t that bezels at the top anyways. Apart from the flagship specs, the price is the actual point here.
Camera and connectivity
The design is totally against the pop-up cameras Smartphone and the recent Honor Magic 2 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. But you will still find that dual front facing cameras, while the other is a infrared (IR) sensor for facial recognition.
Apart from the 8-megapixel IR sensor at the front, it comes with a 16-megapxiels sensor f/2.2 aperture. The selfie snapper is enhanced and equipped to bring in a spectacular shots, beautification and many more.
Meanwhile, you will find a 1.22um 16-megapixel main camera Sony IMX519 sensor + a secondary 0.9um 24-megapixels camera Sony IMX576 sensor, for low-light photography using pixel binning.
The cameras aren’t that bad, because you can still get up to 4K video capture, but lacks super slow motion mode. Both comes with an f/1.8 aperture and dual-tone LED flash.
For network and connectivity, it features 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, dual-SIM (Nano), and USB Type-C. Well, thanks for ditching the quaint USB 3.0 port, but for wired headphones, you’ll need a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.
Performance and Battery
Lenovo Z5 Pro is powered by a mid-range chipset, Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM, which will provide undiluted smart optimization and faster performance, with the inclusion of multitasking.
It features Adreno 616 GPU for graphic performance and it is available in 64GB and 128GB of onboard storage options. Lenovo Z5 Pro runs Android 8.1 Oreo with ZUI 10 on top.
A 3350mAh battery capacity isn’t bad for a mid-range Smartphone that measure 155.12×73.04×9.3mm. Others includes: Ambient light sensor, e-compass, gravity sensor, gyroscope, hall sensor, and in-display fingerprint sensor. Dolby Atmos is also supported through both speakers,
Lenovo Z5 Pro 64GB price at $287 / N103,320 while the 128GB for $330 / N118,800 and will be available starting November 11. However, if the phone will make it out of China still remains unknown and yet to be confirmed. But it is the cheapest in-display fingerprint sensor Smartphone with sliding mechanism.
