As part of extending its mid-range and affordable series, a branch of vivo company, iQOO officially launched two of its latest Smartphones – iQOO Neo 5S and iQOO Neo 5 SE with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 870 processors respectively.
iQOO Neo 5S
The iQOO Neo 5S is the major mobile handset here with a 6.62-inch 1080 pixels Full HD+ AMOLED 20:9 aspect ratio screen, with HDR10+ certified, peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and 105% NTSC color gamut. It supports DC dimming and boasts of 91.4% screen-to-body ratio.
It comes with support for 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1000Hz instant touch sampling rate, and boasts of 5.8ms touch response. DC dimming and 91.4% screen-to-body ratio. It is offered in two colors – Black, Blue, and Orange options.
The fingerprint sensor is built inside the iQOO Neo 5S display, offering support for USB Type-C audio, and stereo speakers with Hi-Fi audio. The new device is 8.39mm thick and weighs 197g. There is support for 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS.
Inside the Neo 5S’s hole-punch camera cutout is a 16-megapixels f/2.0 selfie camera, while the back camera setup includes a primary f/1.79 48-megapixels IMX598 sensor with OIS, accompanied by a 13-megapixels 120° ultra-wide sensor and 2-megapixels macro lens.
The iQOO Neo 5S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, it’s a 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU. With the support of LPDDR5 RAM, it can reach a 6400Mbps transfer rate, faster reading, lower power consumption.
iQOO Neo 5S arrives in 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB / 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage, and 12GBLPDDR5 RAM with 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage. The UFS3.1 supports the new HID Deep defragmentation technology. It boots Android 11 OS with OriginOS Ocean out of the box.
The new device arrives with large-area graphite plates, VC soaking plates, and high-conductivity heat dissipation gel from the predecessor Neo 5, the iQOO Neo 5S uses aerospace-grade high-conductivity rare earth alloys to improve thermal conductivity by up to 200% compared to the predecessor.
It packs a 4500mAh battery that supports up to 66W wired fast charging that can charge the phone from 0 to 70% in 18 minutes. It starts at 2699 yuan ($423) for 8GB/128GB option, 2899 yuan ($454) for 256GB and 3199 yuan ($501) for the 12GB RAM / 256GB storage.
iQOO Neo 5 SE
On the other hand, the iQOO Neo 5 SE, being the cheaper variant comes with a smaller display, it comes with a 6.67-inch 1080 pixels Full HD+ LCD 20:9 aspect ratio screen, it is HDR10+ certified, and comes with 144Hz refresh rate, for faster and smoother display.
It arrives with support for DCI-P3 color gamut, and up to 650 nits brightness. There is NO in-display fingerprint sensor, instead, it is embedded on the power button, 8.53mm thick, and weighs 189g. It comes in Crystal White, Mineral Blue, and Phantom gradient colors.
The iQOO Neo 5 SE comes with a main 50-megapixels f/1.79 lens with LED flash support, secondary 8-megapixels 120° ultra-wide sensor, and 2-megapixels f/2.4 macro camera. Identical to the Neo 5S, there is a 16-megapixels selfie camera with an f/2.0 lens.
It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, its a 7nm chipset with 1x 3.2GHz, 3x 2.42GHz, and 4x 1.8GHz Hexa with Adreno 650 GPU. The iQOO Neo 5 SE comes in 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB / 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage, and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage.
It arrives with a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio support. The connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS/GLONASS for positioning. It arrives with a 4500mAh battery and supports 55W flash charging.
The phone has a linear vibration motor, 4D game vibration, and also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The iQOO Neo 5 SE costs 2199 yuan ($344) for 8GB/128GB, 2399 yuan ($376) for 256GB and 2599 yuan ($407) for the 12GB RAM / 256GB storage.
The iQOO Neo 5S will go on sale in China starting from December 24th with pre-orders starting, while the iQOO Neo 5 SE will go on sale in China starting from December 28th with pre-orders starting today.
