This is the Vivo iQOO Neo 5 5G and it is the first device of the company with the new Qualcomm chipset – Snapdragon 870 processor. It is the company’s latest gaming Smartphone with support for ultra-fast charging technology.
Powering up the device inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset clocking at 3x 2.42GHz Octa-core processor with support for 5G SA / NSA, Adreno 650 GPU and runs on Android 11 with iQOO’s OriginOS skin on top.
With the combination of both liquid cooling system and 6000mm² graphite board, and up to 210% heat dissipation volume increase over the previous generation, the device is ready to keep you entertained during your gaming session.
On the front is a 6.62-inch AMOLED Full HD+ 20:9 display with 1080p resolution with 105% NTSC color gamut, up to 1,300 nits brightness. It is HDR10+ certified and supports a 120Hz refresh rate with a 300Hz touch sampling rate.
The iQOO Neo 5 5G display boasts of 91.45% screen-to-body ratio, DC dimming and comes with a built-in Pixelworks X5 Pro display enhancement chip. Inside the display is an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
It is available in Black, Cloud Blue, and Pixel Orange color options. The phone has 4D Game Vibration 3.0, AG glass back, 8.43mm thickness, weighs 196g, and supports USB Type-C audio, Stereo speakers, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS.
Well, instead of high-end camera features, depending on the fact that it is a gaming Smartphone, where cameras aren’t that important. The company decided to slap a triple-camera sensor on the back, offering a primary f/1.8 48-megapixels IMX598 main camera with OIS.
Supported by 13-megapixels ultra-wide camera with 2.5cm macro shooting capabilities, and 2-megapixels mono depth sensor. While a 16-megapixels selfie camera stays inside the punch-hole camera cutout at the upper top display.
It is available in 8GB / 12GB RAM with 128GB / 256GB storage, the company used LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It also comes with Multi-Turbo 5.0 features that boost the hardware on demand and supports Dual SIM, offering nano + nano option.
Keeping the Smartphone lights on is the 4,400mAh battery with support for 66W wired fast charging through USB Type-C that can charge the phone from 0 to 100% in 30mins. The bundled adapter also supports 45W PD for all other compatible devices.
The iQOO Neo 5 5G was officially released in China, where the first flash sale is scheduled for March 22. It will starts at 2499 yuan ($384) for the 8GB RAM / 128GB storage, 2699 yuan ($415) for the 8GB RAM / 256GB storage and 2999 yuan ($461) for the top-end 12GB RAM with 256GB storage version.
