iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets

One of the Chinese Smartphone makers, vivo brand iQOO officially launches the latest flagship smartphone – iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro powered with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and brings BMW M stripes on the back in a special version.

The iQOO 9 sports a flat 6.78″ 1080p AMOLED panel with 1,500 nit peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate while the iQOO 9 Pro keeps the same screen size, but the company brings curves, 1440x3200p, LTPO 2.0 panel, which means it should be able to vary it from 1Hz to 120Hz dynamically.

On the rear panel, the iQOO 9 sports a Samsung’s ISOCELL GN5 1/1.57″ 50-megapixels camera with f/1.75 lens and OIS, secondary 13-megapixels 120-degree ultrawide, and a 12-megapixels 2x zoom lens. It brings a 16-megapixels snapper with an f/2.45 lens.

While the Pro main camera and selfie snapper are identical to the original iQOO 9. The Pro brings a 50-megapixels with a 150-degree field-of-view, and the telephoto sensor, a 16-megapixels unit with 2.5x optical zoom.

The iQOO 9 comes with a 4,700mAh battery capacity, which brings support for 120W, which promises 0 to 100% of just 19 minutes, but the Pro also gets 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging support via USB Type-C connector.

Both phones run OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12 OS with 8GB / 12GB of RAM and 256GB / 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The iQOO 9 is offered in three colorways, while the Pro is available in two colors options.

The iQOO 9 with 8GB RAM / 256GB storage model starts at CNY 3,999 ($629 / €556), and the 12GB RAM / 256GB storage model costs CNY 4,399 ($692 / €611), and the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage for CNY 4,799 ($755 or €667).

The iQOO 9 Pro 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model starts at CNY 4,999 ($786 / €695), 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage goes for CNY 5,499 ($865 / €763), and the 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at CNY 5,999 ($943 / €834).

The company mentioned that the sales for both phones will begin in China from the 12th of January, and it is currently launched in China-only and it is unclear if the iQOO 9 will make it to other countries.
