Apple event is over and yes, the rumored Apple iPhones has been launched. It is kind of scary to forget how $1000 is becoming a meaningful reality in this modern days. Few years ago, no one would ever thought of buying a Smartphone so close that amount!
This is iPhone Xs, running on the new Apple’s A12 Bionic processor, available in three different variants. After last year generations, the phone is arriving with dual camera setup at the back. For the very first time, Apple is releasing a Smartphone with Dual-SIM.

Magnificent: Design and Display
Don’t get over excited, iPhone XS still comes with the company’s inventory signature -yes, the top notch. Apple also launched the bigger variants of the iPhone Xs, it is the iPhone XS Max! And the screen display is wider, bigger and larger than our everyday Smartphone.
It is time to say Goodbye to last year’s iPhone X, after all, the 2018’s phones are the iterations on iPhone X. This new generations of the iPhones are likely amazing and quite attractive. One of the conspicuous different is the availability of gold color option.
Tim Cook called the devices “by far the most advanced iPhone we have ever created.” The iPhone Xs packs a dauntless and undoubted features and specs, with a small 5.8-inch OLED Super Retina, which provides a high screen resolution of 1125 x 2234 pixels with 458 ppi pixel density, for more sharpness.
The screen size is the same with the last generation but it is smaller than the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus and enhanced with a 60 percent superior dynamic range for more amusing and in-depth display, wider screen ratio, wider stereo sound from the speakers and of course, it comes with advanced IP68 water resistance feature.
Apple says, the materials used on the iPhone Xs is the most durable glass ever in a smartphone. It is self-claimed, but with the costs of the X, we are quite surprised and astonished to see Apple using a more standard ‘all glass design’ finishing on the Xs.
The design on the Smartphone is really appealing and stunning. The beautiful gold and space grey finish is radically attractive and comes with what Apple calls “Surgical-grade stainless steel bands” The glass back supports fast charging tech, and might charge faster than the iPhone X.
Everything, starting from the durable glass to stainless steel rails, they help the phone to feel more vivid and bold. The slippery part are all gone, the design is up to Apple standard! The colors are dazzling, and easily follows the reflection of the sun rising.
Undisputed Camera
The cameras on the iPhone Xs mobile phone is quite realistic and mind blowing. When comparing the camera differences with the last year generation, there are bigger upgrades. Featuring a dual rear cameras that consists of primary 12-megapixel f/1.8 aperture with wide-angle sensor and a secondary 12-megapixel f/2.4 aperture with telephoto sensor.
They both come with optical image stabilization. Whereby, the wide angle camera uses a new tech with larger pixels, and the telephoto includes a wider aperture, hence, we did expect a more profound photos during low light shots.
It also comes with 6-element lens and 2x optical zoom along with an improved TrueTone quad-LED flash at the back. While the selfie snapper features a 7-megapixel f/2.2 aperture RGB camera sensor. The front camera is said to be faster.
Another exuberant upgrade is the introduction of Apple’s Smart HDR that takes many photos and stitches them altogether into one properly captured image. And yes, Apple brings in a more confidential portrait mode feature with depth control, which allows you to adjust the bokeh after the shoot.
Apple security system is stronger and the iPhone Xs comes with Face ID tech, which uses infrared and dot projector technology. ” It is the most secure facial authentication ever in a smartphone”Apple’s claims.
It supports dual SIMs and gigabit LTE -single physical SIM card and Apple’s integrated eSIM. Thankfully, few countries that does NOT supports Apple’s eSIM like China, will get a special version of the Xs Max that includes two physical SIM trays.
Performance and Storage
The iPhone Xs is powered by the company’s latest A12 Bionic processor. It is a six-core chip using a 7nm process, tests shows that it is 15 percent faster than the previous A11 processor. It also provides a 40 percent lower power, and 4 efficiency cores with up to 50 percent lower power.
The iPhone Xs arrives with improved battery life, with 30 additional minutes. The three variants includes a 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. We haven’t seen a 512GB storage options for an Apple device – that is a reputable upgrade.
However, the cheaper iPhone Xr did not arrive with 512GB storage options, but it is also categorized in three options, which includes: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Above all, the price of the 256GB is $899, which is around N325,000 in Nigeria currency.
The price of the iPhone Xs with 64GB storage is $999, and Preorders will start Friday, with the phones shipping out September 21st. Apple are bringing more competition to the Smartphone market!
