Display and Design
The Apple iPhone X arrives with a front and back all Glass Build and yea, it is the Future of Smartphone. Exactly, 10 years ago, we had the first iPhone and now, 10 years later, we have the iPhone X as the iPhone 10!
Apple’s also incorporated its TrueTone technology for white-balancing the screen in different conditions, which should make everything look even better.
The first iPhone to features a OLED screen from Apple! It comes with a huge 5.8‑inch Super Retina screen 448 PPI(pixels per inch) with a 2,436 x 1,125 screen resolutions.
This new super flagship phone from Apple features an edge-to-edge screen with a notch at the top to accommodate the front-facing camera and new Face ID sensors.
The iPhone X dimensions give you a shorter height of 5.65 inches (143.6 mm) and, importantly, a smaller width of 2.79 inches (70.9 mm) vs a Plus phone. It weights a lighter 6.14 ounces (174 grams), too.
Will come in two colors and there are, Space Gray and Silver which will be the only two options available. It doesn’t have curved screen sides like Samsung’s phones, however.
Differences between the LCD Screen and OLED Screen
On a normal LCD screen, even black pixels are lit up a bit, which means you’re never seeing true black—just really dark gray. OLED, on the other hand, can light some pixels but not others, which means black pixels just stay off. Your dark colors will seem much darker, other colors even richer, and even text becomes more pleasant to read.
Battery and Face ID
On the battery level, company claims that the iPhone X will last 2 hours longer than the iPhone 7! And of course, it features a fast-charge, Up to 50% charge 30 minutes.
Among others, the iPhone X also comes with a Wireless Charging Pad which is placed at the back of iPhone, this feature is also seen on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Only.
To make it work, all you have to do is to place the back of the iPhone on the Charging Pad and automatically, it starts charging with the QI generation.
But Apple debuts a new AirPower charging pad that can charge every new Apple product: an Apple Watch, AirPods and the iPhone X.
Now finally, to the Security area, the iPhone X comes with a Face ID Recognition that automatically unlocks your Phone when it notices it.
Well, there is no space for the Physical Home button which might be used as the Fingerprint Sensor, the Only Security Visibly known is the Face ID and it is responsive, fast and well deserved.
It combines an IR system with the front camera and a so-called flood illuminator that beams a light at your face so it can be recognized even in the dark. Apple even went the extra step of building a dedicated neural engine — based on a dual-core custom chip design — to process face recognition in real time.
The new face authentication will also work with Apple Pay and all third-party apps that already supported Touch ID.
Performances and Memory
Multitasking will also be something people will need time to adapt to: opening the iOS Control Center, for instance, requires a swipe down from the screen’s top right corner. All the swipe-based interactions have been tried by other phone companies before, with varying degrees of success.
The new A11 Bionic processor that was introduced with the iPhone 8 earlier in the event is, of course, present inside the iPhone X. It has two performance cores, four high-efficiency cores, and the first Apple-designed GPU. Along with 3 gigs of RAM.
You can easily pare down battery consumption with low-power mode in iOS 11 to have it last even longer.
Camera and Connectivity
The iPhone X has dual 12-megapixel rear cameras, and it’s equipped with optical image stabilization on both lenses. The sensors are both larger and faster than previous generations, says Apple.
The main camera has an f/1.8 aperture while the telephoto lens has an f/2.4 aperture. In between the two cameras is a quad-LED True Tone flash that is claimed to provide scene illumination that is twice as uniform as previously. The new phone also offers 4K video recording and stereo speakers for better audio playback.
Apple’s iPhone X TrueDepth camera is no ordinary selfie camera. It’s 7MP, but packs more technology than we’ve ever seen in a front-facing camera array.
Price and Availability
The iPhone X release date is Friday 22 September. The iPhone X is from $999 for 64GB so the 256GB iPhone X will be VERY expensive.
You can pre-order iPhone X from 27 October and the iPhone X release date is 3 November.
However, they are some disturbing facts about this latest iPhone X! In roman figure, the X stands for “10”. Each year, Apple releases one iPhone, 10 years ago, we had the first iPhone but now, having the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X at a goal, is it sounding any difference in your ears?
Of course, I think, we are both having the same idea, the iPhone X is supposed to be the next two generation iPhone. Well, right now, Apple want to us to be calling the iPhone X, iPhone 10!
Now here comes the big question: What has happened to iPhone 9, are we going to see the iPhone 9 next year, alongside the Note 9?
