HUAWEI, a Chinese-based company, just introduced its latest top-end premium tab in the market – HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6 OLED display with 8 speakers, and it is powered by Kirin 9000E chipset.
The company also introduced the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 10.8 powered by a Qualcomm processor, running on HarmonyOS out of the box. However, this is actually coming after releasing the HUAWEI Watch 3 series.

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6″
This is the HUAWEI MatePad Pro with a 12.6-inch WQXGA OLED display, 16:10 2.5D curved glass display with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. It supports a DCI-P3 wide color gamut with a high contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.
And there is a hardware-level low blue light eye protection solution with TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display 2.0 certification. Also added is the professional-grade color accuracy level of ΔE<0.5,6.
Well, the display is amusing, and the body finish is impressive too. The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6″ is available in Matte Grey color with a matte finish which offers a delicate touch and Olive Green with a vegan leather rear finish.
To express how slim it is, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6″ is 6.7mm thick and weighs 609g. It sports 8-speakers with HUAWEI Histen 7.0 Sound Effect, featuring 4 microphones.
Cameras might not be the best feature, but it is still outstanding. Featuring a triple rear camera setup, a primary f/1.8 13-megapixels autofocus lens with PDAF, 8-megapixels ultra-wide camera, and a 3D depth-sensing camera.
On the front is an 8-megapixels selfie shooter with an f/2.0 lens. The connectivity options include 5G / 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2 LE, and GPS support.
The HUAWEI new tablet is powered by Kirin 9000E with its Cortex-A77 CPUs clocking at 3.13GHz / 2.54GHz and 4x Cortex-A55 CPU Core at 2.05GHz. It is armed with ARM Mali-G78 MP22 GPU and Big Core + Tiny Core NPUs.
HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6″ arrives in an 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB/256GB internal storage, and any of the configurations supports expandable memory up to 256GB with an NM card. The new tablet also runs HarmonyOS 2.
And there are supports for M-Pencil (2nd generation) that feature a transparent tip design, platinum-coated nib, and rounded hexagonal shape, which makes it more comfortable to hold and draw.
It is equipped with 4096 Levels of Pressure Sensitivity and supports tilt writing and has 9ms latency. It can attach to the tablet magnetically to pair and charge wirelessly. When fully charged, it will last for 10 hours.
The MatePad Pro 12.6″ sports a 10050mAh battery with supports for 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge charging supports 27W wireless charging, and there is 10W reverse charging support also.
Starting from the top-end 5G version with 256GB storage bundled keyboard and stylus costs 7999 yuan ($1,253), 6699 yuan ($1,049) for 256GB Wi-Fi version with bundled keyboard and stylus, 5499 yuan ($861) for just 256GB Wi-Fi model.
While the base model, 128GB Wi-Fi costs 4999 yuan ($783). The base and ordinary 256GB Wi-Fi version with no Keyboard and M-Pencil, there is M-Pencil 2nd gen for 599 yuan ($94) and 799 yuan ($125) for the Keyboard.
HUAWEI MatePad Pro 10.8 (2021)
Alongside, we’ve got the MatePad Pro 10.8″ (2021) with WQXGA 16:10 2.5D curved glass display, 7.99mm thick, weighs 492g, and comes in Midnight Gray color option. It is definitely a top-notch tablet.
It features a 13-megapixels autofocus rear camera with PDAF, f/1.8 lens, and an 8-megapixels front-facing camera lens. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1 LE, and GPS.
Powering the MatePad Pro 10.8″ is an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 7nm Mobile Platform coupled with Adreno 650 GPU. It is available in 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 256GB / 512GB, and supports memory expansion up to 256GB with an NM card.
It runs HarmonyOS 2, Harman Kardon-certified Quad speakers, Huawei Histen sound effects, and packs a 7250mAh battery with 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge charge through USB Type-C, 15W wireless charging, and 7.5w reverse charging support.
The HUAWEI MediaPad Pro 10.8 128GB model costs 3799 yuan ($595) and the 256GB variant goes for 4299 yuan ($673). There is also another 256GB model bundled with a keyboard and stylus that goes for 5299 yuan ($830).
For whatever option you are going for, HUAWEI promised that these HUAWEI MediaPad Pro 10.8 storage models will be available for order from today and will go on sale in China from the 10th of June.
