The Huawei Mate X 5G foldable phone is now available for purchase in China for 16,999 yuan, which is around $2,400. And it is the second foldable phone to arrive the market for selling.
Samsung Galaxy Fold was the first foldable phone to hit the market. Although, the both Foldable devices launches and availability were delayed, we still don’t know the cause.
Huawei’s engineers took three years to make the Foldable phone available to the market. And it comes with remarkable specifications, features and stunning folding technique.
The Huawei Mate X 5G comes with a 6.6-inch main display, 6.4-inch (25:9, 2480 x 892) rear display and the secondary 8-inch (8:7.1, 2480 x 2200) display, when unfolded.
Powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM, 512GB of onboard storage, and it is fueled by a 4500mAh capacity with Huawei’s 55W SuperCharge technology.
For the optics aspect, the device comes with a powerful 40-megapixel sensor as wide-angle lens, 16-megapixel as ultra-wide-angle lens, and 8-megapixel sensor as telephoto lens.
The most outstanding feature of the Mate X is its unique folding mechanism, which conspicuously fold its screen outside of the phone.
When it is folded, you will see a 6.6-inch screen on the front and a 6.38-inch screen on the back, and when it’s unfolded, you will see 8-inches diagonally.
Which totally differs from the newly announced Motorola Razr and Galaxy Fold. These foldable phones folds its screen display internally.
At first, the phone was rumored to be sold at EUR 2,299, ($2700) for the 8GB RAM / 512GB storage variant, but the price is still set at an expensive 16,999 yuan, ($2,400).
However, you can now purchase the phone from Vmall, Huawei’s online store in China. We are still unsure if Huawei will still bring its most unique phone outside the great walls of China.
