Huawei’s Honor V20 (View 20) is an Android Smartphone that was launched today, with 48-megapixels rear camera, with display hole selfie camera design, which is powered by Kirin 980 SoC.
The Honor V20 Smartphone is the Chinese version, while the Honor View 20 is the global launch, that was launched at an event in Paris, France on January 22.
And it is the first smartphone to launch in India with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor along with a time of flight (ToF) sensor at the back.
This isn’t the first Smartphone to be launched with hole-punch and there is the Huawei Nova 4 mobile handset.

Design and Display
The Honor View 20 smartphone arrives with punch-hole selfie camera design, classic, intriguing glassy, and shiny design at the back.
The back panel sport a glossy gradient finish and tapered edges for better gripping. The Honor V20 sports a 6.4” TFT LCD of 1080p resolution, with tall ratio of 19.25:9 aspect ratio.
For a flagship phone, Honor is keeping the Super AMOLED display out, henceforth, there is no UD in-display fingerprint sensor scanner.
The Honor V20 boasts of 91.82 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 398ppi pixel density. The bezels surrounding the phone is slimmer and thinner.
The Honor V20 comes with a gradient rear panel with a V that changes colors as the viewing angle changes.
The Honor V20 (View 20) is arrives in different gradient colors, which are: Charm Blue, Red, and Midnight Black colors option. There is the Moschcino Edition with no fancy black panel.
Camera and Connectivity
The Honor View 20 arrives with three, triple cameras, dual camera at the front and a single powerful single front facing selfie shooter.
Sitting inside the hole-punch of the phone, Honor V20, there is the profound 25-megapixel front sensor with f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus support.
The front facing camera is AI-powered and arrives with bunch of features, such as AI photo, night scene, portrait, fun AR, time-lapse photography, slow-motion, etc.
At the back, there is an horizontal cameras setup, with the main 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 960fps slow-motion video recording support, autofocus, AI HDR, and LED flash support.
And there is the secondary 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to capture the depth of an image, which can be used to slimming subjects in photos as well as creating 3D avatars of users.
For the network and connectivity, the Honor V20 (View) 20) arrives with Bluetooth v5.0, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and more.
As pointed out, the handset arrives with something called “Link Turbo technology” that allows the phone to switch between data and Wi-Fi on its own, this will keep the browsing unaffected and buffer-free.
It supports dual-frequency GPS positioning as well as a triple Wi-Fi antenna.
Performance and Battery
The Honor View 20 Android Smartphone is completely powered by a 7nm octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC (2 Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.6GHz + 2 Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 1.92GHz + 4 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz).
And it comes in two main variants, 6GB and 8GB RAM options. Both models arrives with 128GB and 256GB respectively. But the company ditches microSD card slot support for storage expansion.
Under the hood, the phone is fueled by a gigantic 4,000mAh battery with support for (4.5V/5A) 22.5W SuperCharge support fast charging. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie based on MagicUI 2.0.1 out of the box.
It also ships with the Yoyo virtual assistant. Like the Nova 3i, it comes with GPU Turbo 2.0 technology for supporting great ans steaming gaming sessions.
Price of Honor V20 (View 20)
The Honor V20 is available in two major variants, the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage, goes for CNY2,999 / $435, while the 8GB RAM / 128GB storage, which goes for CNY3,499 / $510.
While the high end, Moschino version comes with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, and goes for CNY3,999 / $580. The phone is going on a sale in China on December 28.
Thankfully, the company has noted that the international availability and pricing of the Honor View 20 will announced on January 22, in an event.
