Faiba 4G LTE Compatible Device – How to check your phone is compatible with Faiba 4G LTE

    Starting from 2018, any Android Smartphone that was launched in Kenya will support Faiba 4G Network, and of course, the promise isn’t derailing. They have massively kept to their words.

    Faiba 4G Network is Kenyan’s communications authority, for every Smartphone vendor, it is now a compulsory rule that must be followed and adhered to. This is about all the smartphone sold in Kenya to support Band 28 (700MHz), which is available on JTL’s Faiba 4G.

    What is Faiba 4G LTE Network?

    Faibia 4G LTE Network is a 4G/LTE only network and the communications authority in Kenya. For now, they are the only network company in Kenya, that operate on BAND 28 (700MHZ), which is seen as the fastest and the best among other bands. LTE stands for Long Term Evolution, while the 4G means Fourth Generation.

    However, Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom Kenya have licenses to operate their 4G networks under BAND 20 (800MHZ) and BAND 2 (1800MHZ). Well, with the introduction of the Band 28, numerous phones are slowly becoming unimportant. This is a clear example, why your phone might be locked out.

    Another clearly instance, some of the Smartphone powered by Android that launched into Kenya markets did not arrives with Faiba 4G support, which is the BAND 28 (700MHZ). Unfortunately, if your phone did not arrive with the Faiba’s BAND 28 (700MHZ) network frequency, you can’t just change it.

    Now is the time to check if your phone supports the new technology, but there are two ways to find out. The first step is via their official website and the other step is outlined below, but only when you follow it accurately.

    To check if your phone support 4G LTE Network, then you can goto Faiba4g.co.ke/4g. And click on Compatible device. Check if your device is among. If it is not among, then try to use the below methods.

    What is VoLTE?

    Before we begin, Faiba’s is Kenya first True 4G Network, they offer both Voice and Data (VoLTE), which enables fast internet speeds, and to make calls. While another is the Data Only 4G Data Only, which allows you to browse the Internet ONLY.

    You must understand that Nokia 2, 5, 6, and 8 are the only ones that supports Faiba 4G LTE’s Data and Voice (VoLTE). Voice support on 4G/LTE is called VoLTE. When your phone can browse the internet on LTE and also make calls with LTE, then it is called VoLTE. Also Known as Voice over LTE!

    Chipset Processor

    To begin with, your phone must support either Qualcomm Snapdragon and MediaTek chipset processor, and they includes:

    *. Qualcomm Snapdragon: 210, 400, 410, 415, 425, 430, 435, 615, 616, 617, 625, 650, 652, 800, 801, 805, 808, 810, 820, 821, 823, 835 and 845.

    *. Mediatek: MT6752, MT6753, MT6755 (a.k.a. Helio p10), MT6795 (a.k.a. Helio x10), MT6797 (a.k.a. Helio x20), MT6757 (a.k.a. Helio p20), Helio P25 etc.

    How to check for Mediatek device

    To check if your Mediatek device support Faiba 4G LTE Network, quickly follow the below procedures:

    *. Dial *#9646633# to access Engineering Mode
    *. Download MTK Engineering Mode from Google Play Store HERE
    *. Go to Band Mode
    *. Select SIM
    *. Find BAND 28
    *. Confirm if it is checked/ticked
    *. Now if BAND 28 is checked, then your phone supports Faiba 4G data
    *. But if it is NOT checked, then you aren’t that fortunate

    Now that your phone is supported, quickly get a SIM card for data and start enjoy Faiba 4G LTE technology.

    How to check for Non-Mediatek device

    Do you have a non-MTK Phone? I mean, do you have a phone that doesn’t run on MediaTek processor? Don’t worry, there are two ways to confirm this. Firstly:

    *. You have to visit your phone makers website
    *. Or any other authoritative website like FBL
    *. And then check the device specifications, under networks
    – We normally label it ‘Networks and connectivity’
    *. Now check if its support 700MHZ band
    *. That’s all
