Facebook Messenger Lite now in over 100 countries

    The popular Facebook Messenger Lite application is reportedly in over 100 countries, this statistics is according to David Marcus who is the head of Messenger at Facebook, as he updated his status. Read what he said below:

    Making sure that everyone can have a great experience with Messenger irrespective of the age of their smartphone is very important to us. This is why today we’re making Messenger Lite available in 150 additional countries including Germany, Colombia, Italy, Vietnam, Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan and the Netherlands.

    So if you have an older phone that doesn’t have a lot of memory, or has limited processing power, and you want the benefit of messaging quickly with any of the 1.2+ billion people using Messenger every month, give Lite a try!

    The company highlights Lite’s compatibility with older phones, but as Abhi pointed out, the app also helps people who have spotty internet connections.

    The countries include Germany, Italy, Algeria, Colombia, Vietnam, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan and the Netherlands. This is in addition to its original five countries of Kenya, Venezuela, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Tunisia.
