We aren’t done yet with full 4G LTE coverages in Nigeria, neither are we barely through with 5G network globally and here we are with China, who are reported starting development of 6G technology!
Anyways, don’t bother as Qualcomm Technologies has confirmed that it will be there to provide foundational contributions and drive forward progress for the 6G technology.
It isn’t that surprisingly as the country is apparently known for driving technology to its brim. After all, they are among the few countries with 5G network deployed, as they just turned on its 5G networks this month.
Vice Minister Wang Xi of the Ministry of Science and Technology said, “In this critical period of national development, we must attach great importance to the 6G development, coordinate its planning, promote it with efficiency, and open up for innovation in this area.”
On Wednesday, the China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, said in a statement that they have set up two teams to start the development of 6G.
Where the first group consist of government departments researching on use cases for 6G. And the second team is made up of 37 universities, research institutes and enterprises, as they’ll be instructed to lay out the technical side of 6G and offer advice.
However it believes that 5G will be the innovation platform for the next decade. In short words, forget 5G network and focus on China’s new development for 6G technology!
