This is the official announcement of both Black Shark 4S and Black Shark 4S Pro – These are the company’s latest gaming handsets in China and they are incredibly plastered with beautiful and unique rear panel design, especially the 4S.
Black Shark 4S even comes with a custom design, it’s a special Gundam Edition with a cool design of the back panel, alongside red and blue-colored shoulder keys, protective case, and colorful retail box. There is a Black / Fog White color option.
On the other hand, the Black Shark 4S Pro arrives with a neon green LED light which can work as a notification light but can also illuminate during games as a do-not-disturb light. It is an overall design and comes with either Galaxy Black / Sky White option.
Both Smartphones come with a 6.67-inch FHD+ display E4 AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and multi-finger 720Hz touch sampling rate, and 8.3ms multi-finger touch response time delay, which increases the gaming performance rapidly.
It is HDR 10+ certified, and 111% DCI – P3 color gamut. The duo display panel supports up to 1300 nits brightness, MEMC intelligent motion compensation technology, and features a fully symmetrical dual-zone screen pressure-sensing 5.0 which has 7 levels of adjustment.
There are series of gaming features, which the display panel is one and there is are built-in 11 temperature sensors, which monitor both the overall temperature and hand-held area of the whole device.
There is the real-time adjustment of intelligent heat dissipation and efficient cooling of the phone. More essentially, this is actually an advanced liquid cooling to enable better sustained performance.
As usual, there are always new features and the new magnetic powerlifting shoulder button is one, in which the company claims its trigger force is as low as 160g and has been tested up to 1 million times. Attached to these is a “sandwich” liquid cooling system.
It uses a large liquid cooling plate alongside a liquid cooling tube and a copper alloy substrate to form a large area heat dissipation plate, 360-degree three-dimensional heat dissipation, and it can also be used in high-energy consumption scenarios.
Well, cameras aren’t that important but both Black Shark 4S and 4S Pro share a secondary f/2.4 8-megapixels 120° ultra-wide sensor, 5-megapixels super macro camera, and a single f/2.45 20-megapixels front-facing camera inside the punch-hole.
However, the primary cameras differ, the Black Shark 4S with 48-megapixels and 4S Pro with 64-megapixels f/1.79 lens with LED flash support. Both phones come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Black Shark 4S Pro comes with Dual 1226 super linear 7-magnet speakers, weigh 220 while the 4S weighs 210g but both are 9.9mm thick. Connectivity includes Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and NFC.
Black Shark 4S and Black Shark 4S Pro boots Android 11 with JoyUI 12.8 and features the same 4,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging alongside QC, and PD fast charging. Similar to the previous generation – Black Shark 4 and Shark 4 Pro, the adapter still comes in the retail box.
The Black Shark 4S is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 870 7nm with its highest CPU clocking at 3.2GHz coupled with Adreno 650 GPU. It comes in either 8GB / 12GB RAM with 128GB storage, and there is the premium 12GB with 256GB storage also.
On the other hand, the Black Shark 4S Pro is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU. It is offered in either 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage.
These use LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1, and SSD storage chips in a RAID setup, enabling faster reading and writing speeds than the rest of the phones in the market. The Black Shark 4S Gundam theme comes with customized-boot animation, wallpaper, theme UI.
Black Shark 4S/4S Pro Pricing
The Black Shark 4S Pro 12GB RAM / 256GB storage costs CNY4,799 ($755/€655) and CNY5,499 ($855/€740) for the 16GB / 512GB edition. While the 4S starts at CNY2,699 ($420/€360) for the 8GB / 128GB, and CNY2,999 ($465/€400) for the 12GB RAM / 128GB storage.
Black Shark is selling the 4S 12GB RAM / 256GB option for CNY3,299 ($510/€440), while the Gundam Edition with 12GB RAM / 256GB storage will go for CNY3,499 ($545/€470). However, it is not yet for sale, while others are up for order, and will be on sale in China from October 15th.
