With an impressive and stunning global smartwatch shipments in Q3, Apple dominates the Smartwatch market with 48% share by market research firm, Strategy Analytics.
The recent statistics by Strategy Analytics covers Apple’s competitors quote, which includes Samsung and Fitbit. It jumped from 45% in the same quarter last year to 48% in the third quarter of this year.
According to the statement by Neil Mawston, Executive Director at Strategy Analytics, “Apple shipped 6.8 million smartwatches worldwide in Q3 2019, rising an above-average 51 percent from 4.5 million in Q3 2018,”
It is no longer news that Fitbit has been struggling with Apple watch. But with Google taking over Fitbit, the both partnership will the both firm to be stronger. After all, Google watch has also under-perform too.
Fitbit shipped 1.6 million smartwatches worldwide in Q3 2019. And the competition with Apple, Samsung, Garmin, Huawei, Xiaomi, and others, that Google acquiring Fitbit might just be at the right time!
On the other hand, Samsung who held second place also jumped from 11 percent to 13 percent during the past year. While the third position holder Fitbit, fell from 15% to 11% this quarter.
Steven Waltzer, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics also added to the statement:
“Samsung shipped 1.9 million smartwatches worldwide in Q3 2019, almost doubling from 1.1 million a year ago. Samsung’s global smartwatch market share has jumped from 11 percent to 13 percent during the past year,” ”
Samsung’s new models, such as Galaxy Watch Active 2, should enable the South Korean tech giant to improve its global smartwatch presence in Q4″
