The International School Of Merchant Seaman Lokoja, also called ISMS, is located in Lokoja Kogi State in Nigeria.
Prospective students, known as CADETS, undergo a two-week indoctrination program, which serves to prepare them for the School lifestyle. After gaining admission into the Institution after Indoctrination, mid shipmen can participate in a variety of clubs and organizations including the Trident Scuba Diving Club, and Regimental Band.
International School Of Merchant Seaman, ISMS is a marine school/ Maritime academy, however ISMS Lokoja also offers other academic programs departments including: marine engineering, marine transportation, Business Administration, marine Navigation and direction, Electrical Electronics and Electrical Engineering Under Water Engineering, Ship BuildingBi- lingual Secretarial Studies.
ISMS’s Sea Year program places students on an international flag-bearing merchant ship for parts of their sophomore and junior years, giving them the experience of potential careers after they have graduated, and also enabling them to visit about 18 foreign countries.
