University of Benin (Uniben) to close today over Boko Haram Threat!Okay, this is no longer news, this was just a threat some days ago, but now it has Result to the closing down of Uniben! From our reliable source over there told freebrowsinglink that the Government suggests that University of Benin (Uniben) is to close over the recent Boko Haram Threat of Bombing the school.
An Islamic young man suspected to be a member of the Boko Haram has just been arrested by the Nigerian Police. The suspect Yusuf Danlandi was arrested by the Ugbowo division about an 5 hours ago with bomb explosives along Ugbowo New Lagos road. The report said that the suspect had confessed when arrested that a 3×9 magnitude of bomb was smuggled into the University of Benin with the help of a Muslim faithful three days ago and was deposited in one of the hostels yet to be mentioned.
In another development, the Vice Chancellor of the University has ordered the immediate closure/evacuation of the institution with effect from 6:30am Thursday 15Th September2011. A new date of resumption will be announced latter. C.M Ojomo (Mrs) Acting registrar UNIBEN.
Though we don’t know if this news is still rumor, but we felt publishing it will alert parents or guidance who has students there to confirm if this is true, and to ask their beloved to come back home, until everything is sorted out. All students of Uniben knows more about this, so they should wait until they hear the official news from the school body.
