Read the full post to see the reason for the riot in the federal polytechnic Nekede. Report reaching us that Two students were said to be killed yesterday when students of poly nekede yesterday embarked on a violent protest over alleged hike in tuition fees and student union election.
The student in their thousands gathered outside the premises with others suspected to be cultists armed with AK47, shortguns and other dangerous weapons and stormed the school premises.
The protesting students alleged that the school had increased their tuition fee from N30,000 to N40,000 while the acceptance fee was hiked from N10,000 to N15,000 per session some three weeks ago.
In reaction, the management denied any increment. The PRO , Nze obinna told newsmen that management has not increased any fee. He said the polytechnic community woke up yesterday to discover that the students took to the streets, destroying property belonging to the school and individuals.
Students union election was expected to be conducted tomorrow as the committee had released names of qualified and disqualified aspirants.
It was gathered that the electoral panel has screened six presidential aspirants namely: Bekee Igbojionu, Peter Ahuana, Kingsley Nwosu, Collins Nlembe, Nnamdi Maduagwu and Emeka Nzeh. While two of the aspirant scaled the hurdle. One of the presidential candidates Bekee Igbojionu was dissatisfied with his disqualification.

The problem is that the acceptance fee of a thing was her initiation, when we have our formal rector their is nothing acceptance fee nor asset fee. To worsten the case she said tha if you don't pay before her given date another 50% will be added to you and talking about all these increments, you will pay the normal shool fees in the normal school acount and pay her increment in another acount. The guy that was shot dead (PRINCE) is my good friend, he was beside me when the policeman purposely shot him on target, he is an only son of their family.
